Unique and Well Made
In addition to the button release, this also has a small lever safety near the pivot as part of the bolster. Very positive assisted action and the grip is comfortable. The micarta was dirty and stained out of the box, so I washed it with some Dawn and dried it with a paper towel, so the green color really comes through now. The blade is really a work of art and came sharp. The SOG carry clip is a bit much with the cutout on display, but at least it isn't too large. Overall, a very nice piece for the money.

I Love this knife
Can’t complain! I use this knife everyday. I’ve had it for a couple months and the S35vn blade still has a factory sharp edge. Kinda different blade shape but I like it. I’m no knife expert but for me, it’s great. My only note is the micarta handle could be a little thinner in some spots but I think that’s personal preference. Overall it’s a great knife.

Beautiful, well made knife
A little small for my hands, but just a simply well made & beautiful knife. I'm thrilled with this purchase!

Not great blade geometry
I put my good sharpener on it and change the geometry trying to make it to take a good edge and it just really doesn't that still seems very hard I don't know if it's not tempered well or what but I'm just not happy with the steel it doesn't feel like CPM S30V to me...

A pain to open
I want to like this knife, I really do. I can't. Try as I might, the thumb stud and assisted opening features are entirely worthless and useless. The knife is hard to open, the thumb stud is in the wrong place and would benefit from smoother edges. In order to get the knife to open I have to place my thumb in a very specific spot and flick my wrist just right, which renders the assisted open feature useless as I'm already having to snap my wrist instead of just flick my thumb. I've not yet managed to rub my thumb raw, but I've only opened it about two dozen timesI find this knife, despite its nice looks and feel in the hand after being opened, easier to open with two hands, like an old school Buck knife, again, making the thumb stud and spring assist useless, especially if you do a lot of work that requires one-handed opening. The blade also has about two millimeters of play when opened, which is annoying, especially for the price. The materials are of quality and the knife has nice heft to it, but is really better suited as a safe quean and not a daily user. Who knows, maybe one day it will be collectable (highly doubtful, though).Would I recommend the current version of this knife? Absolutely not. SOG needs to get their crap together and focus more on user friendliness instead of just looks.
