Lonely Planet The Travel Book

Best coffee table book and gift for anyone that loves to travel or wants to travel the world. You can’t go wrong with Lonely Planet. It’s also great for teens or adults to learn and for the classroom- Human Geo or World History, etc. the photos are great and the “things to do” section is perfect for the traveler.

This book is absolutely spectacular. The hardcover itself is gorgeous, and the illustration on the front is simply beautiful. Every single page feels like an invitation to travel the world. You sit down to flip through it, and suddenly you want to visit every country featured inside. The photography, the presentation, the feeling of the book — everything about it is stunning. Truly in love with this book. Oh my goodness, it’s just so beautiful.

In an age of over abundance (especially with every internet search) this book is a treasure. All the countries with facts, information about cultural references, beautiful photos, travel tips. Not a nausiating book with more facts than your brain can hold. Not a big book with a bunch of facts you’ve already heard before. This book hits just right: Learn about a country you already know or discover something new. The accessibility and art of discovery found between these pages is wonderful given that much of this has been lost in our current digital age.

A beautiful and informative find that has rekindled my interest in travel. I wanted to up my coffee table game with something large-scale and interesting. The Travel Book seemed to fit the bill. The book arrived promptly, and I have been paging through it since then. I am so happy not to have been disappointed.

This is a beautiful book well worth over $21. It is big and heavy but full of beautiful pictures with insightful information for your world travels and I would gift this to anyone who loves to travel abroad. It even has an attached ribbon bookmark. Amazon needs to package it better for shipping because mine came with a little dent on the corner because it was just shipped in a plastic amazon bag with no protection other than the cellophane wrapping when you remove it from the plastic bag.

An absolutely stunning book. I purchased the hardcover edition which is a bit bigger than the paperback. My children are interested in geography, so I added it to our permanent library as an option to become interested in new countries or just read about a country we have already studied. Certainly worthy to join our overabundance of books, but it is a bit too heavy for the young kids to use without assistance. Due to its size, I highly recommend checking it out from your local library first and determining over the first month or so whether it is a keeper, or if borrowing it again would be sufficient.

I ordered this book in the morning and it came early before the night was even over. I am very pleased with this purchase. I decided on buying this book to add on to a retirement gift I got one of my coworkers. (The other two gifts I got was a suitcase and a neck pillow for the airplane). I didn’t realize the book was going to be so big and heavy. She won’t be able to travel with it, but it’s still fine because it’s still a very informative book and worth buying. It also makes a good centerpiece for a coffee table. Very easy read and comes with a lot of nice and vibrant colored pictures. Now I want to purchase one for myself.

What a great book for travelling lovers. The book us very big, great quality, full of breathtaking images and very good advices about where to go and what to do in every country. I am thinking of buying another copy as a gift.

Great for someone who is looking to travel the world. Each page talks about a different place. It doesn't have extensive information but enough to make you want to go visit. Mentions things to do & see. Best time to travel, even teaches you a word in the origin language. I bought this for my sister who will be starting her own travel journey soon, she loved the gift.

2 pages per country are too little to give an impression even brief. so I felt the content is too general. I would have gladly bought a 2 volume set that would allocate 4 pages per country and Wouk of gladly have paid triple the price as a premimum
