Well Made. Well Padded, Very Strong, Seems Durable
I was so happy to find this harness for my dog that has a benign growth on the left side of her rib cage. The no-pull training harness she had been using fit directly on top of the growth so I needed to look for one that fit farther back on her side. This harness filled the bill! It was easy to adjust and I was thrilled that it comfortably avoided the growth. It's heavy duty, seems meticulously made and I love the little handle in the rear to assist her when she needs it. I might add that it looked beautiful on her!Unfortunately, when she walked in it there was a little bit of play across her chest along the breast plate. She can be stubborn on our walks, and if she doesn't want to move along, she just won't move and needs to be pulled a little to get her moving. If she's really feeling stubborn, it takes more than a little.I don't mind letting her sniff all she wants, but when crossing a street or trying to make sure she isn't eating something she found, this is a huge issue. When pulling her by the leash clipped on top, by the withers or the handy little handle, it caused a huge gap in the harness in front and the whole harness shifted forward a little, making me fear she'd slip out. So, regretfully I had to return this otherwise fantastic harness. This is by no means a design defect, it's the way my dog is put together. She is very narrow up front across the breast, has a neck appropriately sized for a 65# dog, but a long body, deep chest and long legs. Quite frankly, when looking at her standing, from the front she looks like she will tip over! The harness itself has plenty of room to adjust to fit most dogs, but the narrow breast of mine just didn't work. A smaller size harness may have worked better in the front, but would not have been long enough for her, especially since my concern was to avoid pressure and rubbing on the growth. This dog harness deserves all five stars, so although it didn't work for my dog I still rated it that way.

Great harness
Bought this for our 30 lb mix. She is high energy and I used this harness to make sure she is comfortable and safe on the leash. The cut of the harness doesn't cut in to her "armpit" area. Other harnesses have rubbed her poorly in this area. this harness doesn't. I like the top loop and the front loop. I ride a bike with her and she responded well to both options. With the rear attachment, she went in to "pull mode" and got a great work out pulling me. When attached in front of the harness, she responded well and didn't pull. So far, this harness has been great. Very happy, so the Kona. Thanks

Company Helped with Broken Harness
**UPDATE AUGUST , 2019**I got in contact with Embark via email. I discussed the failure of the harness and what I thought could be improved. Lo and behold, they sent me an updated version of the harness, with more solid bluckes, and thicker metal D rings. The harness is now held up for well over a year. I have to say I am deeply impressed with how responsive and Embark has been with their customers. I am also happy to say, that the new large harness is definitely sufficient for my Alaskan Malamute.**AUGUST 26TH, 2019**We had a good few months with the harness. However, today it looks like part of the plastic components broke. The part that broke was the plastic adjusters on the right neck strap. I'm going to have to remove a few stars from my review, because this clearly shows that the plastic components on the harness are quite fragile. Keep in mind, I take the harness off my dog when we are done with our walks/runs.**APRIL 26TH, 2019**Shopping around for a harness was a pain, and I was initially unsure of the the Embark Adventure Harness. I hope my review can help you. There were many reviews complaining about the front D ring attachment, so I'll get to that in a bit. Still, I am very happy with the harness now that I have it.The Adventure Harness is well designed- Embark knew what a functional harness should be. The harness is made of very light weight material. It feels lighter than any of the similar-looking harness you can find on Amazon. The material is also quite smooth. Slipping it onto your dog is very easy. There is no struggling to get it over his head. As a result, my dog was much happier to put the Embark Adventure Harness on than his old Good2Go harness. That being said, make sure your dog does not chew on this harness. The fabric is so light, that if they did chew on it, they could probably damage the nylon quite easily.Embark also knew what they were doing when they made the initial color selection for the Adventure Harness. The Adventure Harness comes in black/grey, teal, and orange. The teal and orange harnesses are bright and easy to see at a distance. Orange is an especially important color for when you and your pup hike! The bright colors also help you to see if ticks have latched onto your dog. So, thank you so much Embark for including teal and orange! The next feature is the handle. The handles looks like it is securely sewn into the harness. It isn't very large and it sits quite close to the rest of the harness. Despite this,it is easy to grab onto if you need to help your dog or keep him close to you. This feature is not included on many harnesses (even Ruffwear does not include it)- it was very important when I was choosing one! Thank you Embark! The inside of the chest-plate also features a spot to write down your dog's name and your phone number. While this is a nice feature, the lable is just printed onto the fabric. With use, I can see it wearing off or washing off. Perhaps a sewn-on lable would be a better idea? The buckles for the Embark Adventure Harness are also made over extremely light plastic. To make them even lighter, they have slits in them. I am not too fond of this; I inspect them before every outing. While I understand the slits keep the buckles light and production costs low, they should be made of solid plastic or metal. The buckles are the only part of the harness that feel cheap and make me nervous. I think a metal buckle (of a similar material to the attachment points) would be a better, more secure choice. The back attachment point is made of a relatively light ring. It feels solid and the stitching looks secure. Now, for that infamous front D ring! In many of the reviews from 2018, I see that the front attachment point had a thin D ring attached to it. The front D ring was made of a round piece of metal that was slightly open on the flat side. In this older version of the Adventure Harness, the D ring was only for attaching your dog's ID tags- it was NOT designed for attaching the leash. The nylon webbing was where they expected you to attach the leash. Why? I am not sure, but people assumed the D ring was the front attachment point. This is what caused all those front D ring failures. HOWEVER........The D ring on my harness is different. As you can tell in my over-exposed image, the front attachment point now consists of a solid, thick ring. I can see that there is no opening on the ring at all. As a result, it seems to hold up just fine. The webbing it is attached to is also firmly sewn into the harness. Unlike my dogs previous harness, the webbing does not shift much - this makes the front attachment point very secure. Overall, the decision to make the front attachment point a solid, metal ring was a brilliant one. I can tell that Embark really listens to their customers!Overall, I'm happy with this product and Embark's responsiveness. I will keep this review updated as I continue to use this harness.

One of a kind
I love your harness. My little girl "Dakota", had a big cyst underneath her armpit on her right front leg. I needed a harness that didn't rub on the cyst, your product is perfect! It was hard to find one that would help Dakota not add to her discomfort. My vet even took a picture of the harness to show other pet owners a different way to help their pets! Thank you.

Easy on/happy pooch!
We have a 60# golden doodle who loves going for a walk every day. But for some unknown reason she hated her first harness and would hide wherever she saw it. I thought something new/different would help. So glad we got this Embark harness (large)! The design is awesome! It’s a lot easier to slip over her head and the buckles snap together on top of the padding. So there’s no chance of pinching or snagging any of her fur. It fits her perfectly and is very sturdy. I envisioned a dog that would come running whenever you got the harness out… that’s not happening yet. But she’s not running the other way either. Thank you, Embark!

Embark harness
This is not the original harness I bought but it was the replacement. The original had a manufacturer flaw in the assembly of the straps. I contacted them and spoke with the owner of Embark. He was wonderful and handled the situation very well.My replacement was very nice. Very high quality and very well made harness so far. Super happy with it. It looks so good on my lab 😊

Quality and comfort
Marshall our collie has had his Embark adventure harness and lead for over 3yrs and still going strong.slightly faded but expected. It was the only one we could find that didnt rub on him and seemed comfortable. we said we would buy ruby our Romania rescue one of the embark harnesses one day when she had finished growing. Last year we did buy the embark sports harness, but couldn't get on with the hook being far back. Recently purchased the Urban Aurora harness ( medium size) for Ruby and she looks beautiful wearing it, but managed twice to get her paws out of the front of the harness, but has been tightened up without causing distress. we shall see how we go and whether it will loosen on it s own.I was put off slightly putting the harness back on her after the second time. Fits perfectly on the body and did wonder at one point whether a size down might of worked better or a harness designed for smaller medium dogs that have slimmer and longer legs that can't easily slip their legs out of the front. Love the handle on the top. would of liked to of seen reflective strips in the harness for darker days .Always use the solid hook on the back for the lead. understanding the fact that a lead and collar are not good for dogs throats how safe are harnesses when it comes to the health of dogs backs? overall the harness is good quality etc, but I wouldn't pay anymore over £25 for any harness.I have come back today to knock a star off my review as after the harness being tightened up; on our walk today Ruby's harness seemed to of loosen itself and she got her head through the harness from one of the sides.

Great fit
This was our Mark II (in very short order) due to operator error with Mark I 😄 (We'd left #1 on our boy without fitting it properly/snuggly on a visit to friends, & the sneaky devil chomped through a loose strap 🙄)Correctly fitted, this suits our Deerhound very well, & the multiple points of adjustment are great without cutting in behind the shoulders & restricting movement. It's very easy to put on/take off so no traumatic wrestling matches - Happy Days! The colours are lovely too & in fact the ONLY tiny niggle is the weight; I'm not too distressed about this however, as our boy is VERY strong so I'm reassured that it is robust enough not to fail.
