A nice tale of Volterra Italy and it's Alabaster history.

I just finish reading this wonderful book and really enjoyed it! It brought me back to my time there as a student in Volterra, Italy throught the UDM Volterra study abroad program.Thank you for telling his stories of the Alabaster Craftsman and the details of their work, lifestyle and their role in history. I could imagine the smell of the mid day meals as described as well as the white alabaster dust floating around in studio and all over my clothes. Sarah Stever, you have captured a period of time of what their life was like before it is all forgotten. I loved the details of nick names given to each craftsman as well as their endurance as artists during times of war. Wonderful read!
