Heroine in book needs to get a life!
The heroine in this story has unbelievably low self-esteem. Every sniveling action by her seems to be tied to some all-powerful man in her life. Whatever happened to women's lib? Her and her "best friend's" actions, thoughts and speech just grate on your nerves. Life for them is just a drudgery. The story overall might not have been too badly laid out IF ONLY the main character is more likable. There are much better chick lit books out there that are waaaaay more fun to read; ask Amazon for recommendations. I would not be reading the second book in the installation.

Sounded Better Than It Was
The Little Lady Agency was chick lit in every way! It was light, ridiculous, and easy to read. Those were all the qualities I needed in a book after reading the behemoth novel, Under The Dome. This had all the elements of a good chick lit story. Namely, a heroine who falls on hard times be being unemployed and financially strapped, then falls for and lands a more successful and attractive guy. There were the predictable mishaps and misunderstandings that occurred when Melissa decided to parade around London as Honey, an upscale call girl who concerned herself with helping men in odd relationships dilemmas rather than sleeping with them. Dispute the chick lit elements, there was very little heart to this story. The protagonist was so bland I could barely recall her real name. As her true self, Melissa let her family push her around and lacked any personality. There were so many opportunities for Honey to have a fantastic comedic scene but the author backed off from the them halfway through. Only at the end did Melissa get the courage to stand up for herself and take charge of her life. Obviously, I liked that development, but even that was lacking in excitement and the events just happened too quickly. This was a bland book and might be my last by this author. Please read more of my reviews on my blog: http://fastpageturner.wordpress.comor follow me on twitter at @dana_heyde

Great Debut!
This was a great debut novel. I really liked the main character, Melissa/Honey, although she was so passive that it was obnoxious at points. It is not the most believable book tat I have ever read, but it is engaging and the plot is very cute. There is something very appealing about someone being able to be the person that they want to be... I look forward to reading the sequel!

Blah
I really wanted to like the book, but the writing was a tiny bit hard to follow at times. The story was mostly about the main character feeling sorry for her self, which got old quick. If you want something to kill time then get it, but I will not order the other two books in the series. I think Wiki will suffice.
