Kenneth Cole felt tight and like I was wearing a pair of boxer briefs
My pair of cotton jersey shorts from Nike from 15 years ago have finally worn down, so I'm trying to find some of equal quality material. So far I've purchased Kenneth Cole, Champion and Russell's. Kenneth Cole felt tight and like I was wearing a pair of boxer briefs. It just needed a fly and it would practically be underwear. The Champion and Russell's use way too thin of a material. They are cotton, but it almost feels as thin as polyester. Champion is thinner than Russell's. But Russell's has the weaker elastic.Soffe so far the one I like the best is Soffe. It has the thickest of the material compared to Champion, Russel, and Kenneth Cole, but it isn't too thick like sweat pants. Soffe has the best elastic of all of them too, without being too restrictive.I think I will stock up on these because they are hard to find a pair of jersey shorts with good material.

Just What I Needed.
I have a couple of pairs of Hanes shorts that I've had for years. I wear them indoors for lounging, (I'm a professional Lounger, by trade,) and are my go-tos in the Summer, because my house gets really hot. They've held up great, but I wanted some backups. All I could find, either online or brick-and-mortar, were so thin I figure they'd last about a Hollywood minute. Then I found these, and took a chance. Glad I did. They're soft and light weight, yet thick enough to last for years for how I use them.Sizing is pretty close to true. I first got mediums, but they were a tad snug. I like the waist a bit loose for lounging comfort, so I went up to the large, and they're perfect. I wear a 32 in Levis 501s, and 527s. The Larges still fit snug enough that I don't need to use the inside drawstring if I don't want to. They break at the top of the kneecap. The pockets are deep enough to hold your keys.So there you have it: Three paragraphs on the merits of $16 shorts, and a brief glimpse at my domestic habits. See my other reviews where I sing the praises of $5 tank tops.

Comfortable shorts at a decent price
As a rule, I don't have a lot of good luck with ordering clothes online, mostly because it is such a hit and miss thing with finding just the right fit. And I hate the hassle of returning things online, so most of the time, I will buy my clothes the old fashion way (buying retail at the good old mall). After reading a lot of good reviews about Soffe shorts, I decided to take a chance and order a pair. I am 5' 8" and weight 210 lbs. with almost all my extra weight being carried around my mid section. For my first pair, I ordered the olive green shorts (Large) and am happy to say that they fit very nicely around the waist and hit right at the middle of my knee, which is where I prefer. They have nice elastic around the waist, a nice drawstring, no fly, and fairly decent front pockets on each side. In a perfect world, the pockets could have been maybe a tad deeper but these aren't too bad at all. Deep enough to put your wallet or cell phone in it as long as you are not doing some major exercising. So I liked the green well enough to order a second pair in the Navy color and I am happy to say that I liked the Navy pair even better. Both are 100% cotton but the navy pair seems like it has a softer weave to it. I have also read reviews that the black color is very similar to the navy as far as feel and weave. These are very plain shorts with no logos or design but fit me perfectly and have a soft feel to them as well. I wouldn't categorize them as an overly plush cottony feel but comfortably soft enough. Very comfortable for around the yard and house.

Switched from Hanes and will stay with Soffe from now on.
The Soffee brand of pocket shorts is just what I've been looking for. I had been purchasing Hanes brand for a number of years and actually had no major complaints with them except for the fact that I'd always wished they had a little more leg length and more sturdiness in the waistband. With these Soffee pocket shorts the length, waistband and overall fit is just right for me. There's some, "substance" to the pocket as well. It doesn't feel like you're reachng into a little poorly made pouch when you reach in the pocket. The material, sewing and construction throughout is a few steps above Hanes. These are definitely of better quality and fit overall and were put together well. I just received my 6th pair today (two pairs each in three colors). With the first five, I've already run them through the washer a few times and there has been no shrinkage or color fading. All in all, this is a good product and a step up from what I had been purchasing and wearing. Since I have six pair now I'm not going to be in the, "shorts market" for a long time to come. I do highly recommend these shorts because I'm the type of guy who doesn't like to buy things over and over again. I just want to get a few pairs of something and not have to worry about replacing them every few months because something tore, wore out or came apart. I'm pretty sure things are going to work out just fine with these Soffee pocket shorts.

good shorts at good price
These Soffe shorts are the kind of thing I live in 90% of the year. I have both the black & the gray in medium and I offer these differences for someone looking for a review possibly more helpful than "I like them/don't like them." The black shorts have an inseam of 7.5 ", a drawstring waist and are made in the USA of 100% cotton. The gray shorts have an inseam of 8", NO drawstring and are made in Pakistan of 90% cotton, 10% polyester. Both are comfortable and I would buy either again (though I like the black ones better, just my personal taste) as they are as cheap or cheaper than anything I've found in local stores and MUCH less extreme in terms of style-- length, bagginess, decoration, etc. Just regular old shorts. Hope this helps.

Falsely advertised and returned
I purchased them as they advertised 100% cotton and the ones that arrived contained polyester, which bothers my skin. They were returned ASAP and I would not purchase another Soffe product or recommend them. I have no respect for companies that falsely advertise their product in order to sell it.

Comfy & Casual
These everyday-wear shorts will come in handy in and around the house and on beach vacations !The GOOD: Comfy, length until middle of knee cap is perfect, material is OK, good stretch band topside and the draw string makes a full loop (thus loose ends don’t “get lost” inside the seams/stretch band area on both sides) !COULD BE BETTER: the crotch area goes down a bit too long IMO and the material could have been even softer :)THAT ALL SAID it was a decent buy for a decent short !

Comfortable material and comfortable fit.
These solid cotton shorts are the real deal, and become softer after each wash. I'm used to wearing microfibre shorts from UnderArmour, Nike and Adidas, and while these are great products, especially at the beach, I find the Soffe Classic Pocket Shorts more comfortable for day-to-day wear. I initially ordered an XL in black and grey and when I tried to reorder, they were out of stock at that color...so I ordered a green and blue one because these were the only floors avilable in my size. I gave a 4 star rating because I wasn't able to order a second pair of black and grey shorts in my size. Otherwise, I would have provided a 5-star rating. Soffe/Amazon, 101 economics teaches us supply needs to meet the demand!

Leisure shorts
I wear 38” jeans and I’m 5’10. I bought a xxl and the waste of these fit snug, don’t need the drawstring.Pros: comfy good for leisure, the material feels like a heavy cotton t-shirt which I like.pockets are a decent depth for my iPhone XCons: they are very wide shorts (Airy) and the are quite long they hang past the knee.Like I said these shorts are more for chillin at home or PJ’s look kinda funny out in public with these IMO

Great shorts but err on smaller size
Nice thick fabric, comfortable - real sense of quality. I have a 36" waist - some brands I take Medium, some I take Large - if you're like that, choose Medium with these shorts. I've washed the Large ones in hot water and it helped a bit, but they are still quite "generous." I will definitely buy these again, just in a Medium.
