Not a single photograph of any of the recipes
Good book with lots of recipes! Only 100 pages of Dal recipes out of 650 pages of Indian cooking. So the name is highly misleading!Book is only text based. Not a single photograph of any of the recipes. Was a big let down.

Good, but could be better
This seemed like a really good book to help with my new interest in Indian cooking. I really like the recipes and overall organization of the book. There's a table of contents that helps to find specific things to make. What's lacking is an index. If I am looking for recipes with spinach, there's no way that know which have it without looking through them all. Or chickpeas or lamb. It makes it a tad frustrating.

Okay book
We bought this book for the dal recipes, but for the size of the book it has very few. Overall it has good recipes, but should not be called the complete Dal recipe book.

disappointing....many of the recipes are not lentil or pulse based (ie:dal) .
It was VERY irritating to find the word chilli incorrectly spelled throughout the book. Chile is a country....chilli is a spice. One might have thought that Amazon (the publisher|)would know better. What else is wrong I wonder....
