It’s great if you are a beginner with watercolor and you need test paper you are going to go through at a large rate - but Gencraft is the better paper for watercolor. UPDATE: I’m finding that non cotton paper is great for students but what student grade paper works better with cheap paints vs. medium grade paints. I tested Arteza Paints and St. Petersburg paints on four different student grade watercolor paper, and to my surprise Artistro Watercolor Paper faired well with both types of paint. So if you are a student and you need a paper that will allow you to practice different techniques, Artistro is the better paper. I haven’t tested it against professional grade watercolor paint, but that will be next.

Thick good paper

I am a fairly new beginner with watercolor and this paper was recommended by several YouTube watercolor artist. I have used several sheets and the color is nice and white, has a good texture and is easy to work on. It’s durable and even as a beginner it doesn’t pile when I gently scrub or lift paint. It’s acid free, 140lb (300gsm) and 30 sheets per pack. A great paper at a great price. I am very happy with the purchase and the paper. Great fast delivery.

This watercolour paper is good quality. Like that it is not spiral bound but glue bound for easy detaching and clean edge. Still have to tape down to avoid buckling. Overall it is best value for quality.
