Sweet Sweet Science, Tea and Coffee - The Best Alternative to Sugar
I love sweets, but I don't like that sugar has so many calories, especially the empty calories of sweetened beverages. I've been using sucralose (which I bought in bulk from Bulk Supplements - and yes, if you're interested in Sucralose (Splenda) you won't find a more affordable way to get it than through these guys. It's top notch. Look at my review of it from awhile ago) Anyway, there has been some research in the last year, several studies, that have found that possibly sucralose and aspartame, and definitely saccharin, while they don't have calories because we can't digest them, the bacteria in our gut do still eat them. Saccharin has been found to be delicious to a harmful strain of bacteria, and there is some preliminary evidence that *maybe* there is a lesser degree of problem with sucralose and aspartame, but I must emphasize, it's still early days, and the studies have been relatively small and much more research is needed. Anyway, the bacteria that these artificial sweeteners seem to feed is not beneficial, and may increase glucose intolerance, and may make it very hard to lose weight. Again, more research is needed, and the amounts of sweetener tested were basically at the max for what a human should consume in a day, so they tested a large amount to get those results and only tested it on a very small, limited population. That being said, my husband and I have been consuming a lot of sucralose in the last decade. And I also have a fondness for aspartame in diet soda. And neither one of us has been able to lose weight even though we have restricted our calories and both exercise. We don't need to lose a lot, but it's been an ongoing frustration for the last decade to lose anything. So, with this new research, they have also found that stevia, while being calorie free for humans, actually feeds a bacteria in our guts that is beneficial. I tried stevia long ago and didn't like the bitter aftertaste, but after reading the reviews on here for Bulk Supplements stevia, I thought I'd give it a try. All of the supplements from Bulk Supplements appear to be pure. Of course, I don't have my own lab for analysis, but they seem to be high quality. I know some people don't like anything from China, and they don't say where their sources come from, but they do seem pure, and you can't beat the price, either. Just look at how much a box of stevia costs in the little packets. It's outrageous, especially for people like my husband and I who drink tea and coffee and like it sweet. I did an analysis of the savings for sucralose by getting it in bulk and it was astonishing. (it might be in my review, I don't remember). I didn't do the same analysis with stevia, but a rough guesstimation seemed like it was much more affordable. I also like that it's 100% pure stevia. The label says it's 90% of the one chemical that is responsible for the sweetness, and the other 10% is parts of the stevia plant, in case that confuses you. So don't worry, it's pure stevia. Most of the ready packages you can buy of stevia have a lot of filler which I really don't want to pay for. The filler is nice for measuring it spoon for spoon like sugar, though. So I got this idea of combining my own filler with this pure stevia. My idea is combining it with a prebiotic, which will help the good bacteria in my gut by giving them a good food. So I ordered some pure powdered inulin but haven't mixed them together yet. For now, I'm using this pure stevia to sweeten my coffee and my husband's tea. For a gallon of tea, it doesn't take too much to get it pretty sweet, however, it takes about 3 times as much as straight, pure sucralose. Sucralose is over 600 times sweeter than sugar, and I think stevia is about 100-150 times sweeter than sugar. TASTE: When I opened the bag, I could instantly taste the stevia! It's pretty sweet! The trick is to make sure you use just the right amount, which takes some experimentation. If you use too much, it does make things bitter. I've been lucky and haven't used too much, so I haven't tasted the bitterness. And it doesn't taste like the stevia I tried about a decade ago that was icky, but wasn't pure, either. So it tastes sweet, but with the amount I used in my coffee, it's not quite as sweet as what I was having with sucralose. But that's not a problem because I usually over-sweetened with sucralose (and yes, it gets really bitter if you overdo it, too!). So it's pleasant and tastes fine. There is a very slight aftertaste but it isn't unpleasant or icky. I find that sugar leaves more of an aftertaste, actually. The bag that it comes in keeps the powder out of the light and keeps it dry, but I prefer to move some of it to a little metal canister (also keeps the light out) which is easier to open and close several times a day. It takes a bit to get it to dissolve in cool and cold liquids. It's not as bad as sugar, but not as quick to dissolve as sucralose. I think if the liquid were warm or hot it might be easier. But it just takes a bit extra time, so it's not a big deal. I am going to make a liquid concentrate to drop in my tea instead of the powder, but I haven't done it yet so I don't know what ratios would be good. Again, it's something to experiment with. Do You Even Science!? :D Bottom Line: Bulk Supplements has been extremely reliable and affordable. I've ordered quite a few supplements from them and they all seem pure and seem to be exactly what I am expecting. And according to research, stevia is the best no calorie sweetener for your microbiome (all the little microbes that are part of you. Most of them are really helpful and you couldn't live easily without them, so treat them well!) and is actually beneficial as opposed to harmful. So even though the research is in its early days, it probably isn't a bad idea, especially if you're struggling to lose weight, to switch to it instead of other artificial sweeteners, or actual sugar.

1kg stevia = 1,348lb sugar
How much stevia can 1 person buy before it spoils? More u buy, more u save. It's FAR less expensive then sugar. I bought 5,392lbs "sugar" via 4kg stevia. This is 1 kilogram bulksupplements stevia in photo. Too much? No. I'm only 1 person. I am buying 4. My last kilogram lasted 3 years frozen. It freezes well. One kilogram stevia equaled 1,348lbs sugar and lasted 3 years. Mostly I made sweet drinks with it. Summers are hot here. For bible believers, sugar will be crucial when Lucifer enforces chip. No sugar in nature when u are dining on fish, birds, weeds and small rodents. Pine needle tea taste quite better with sugar when Lucifers money no longer exists. I'm buying 4 kg, $78 per kilo. ...= $312. Vs $2,588 for the cheapest walmart sugar bought this amount in bulk. Stevia is much cheaper. Easier to carry in back pack too. When fleeing Lucifers forces. Secondly I need to save my teeth. Sugar raises PH. This causes tooth decay, and cancer, and weakens body drammatically. I averaged 1 kg stevia in 3 years for 6 years running. Now I will reduce my sugar intake even further, by going to 2 to 3 grams stevia per day instead of 1, and keep blood much more alkaline then b4. At 2.5 grams stevia per day, 4 kilograms will last 4.37 years. My experience is u have to freeze it if u want that it lasts this long. 3 years is a more practical max as tate wI'll degrade, weaken at that point. Simply use a gram scale to calculate how much YOU can manage a day, and do the math. Don't go overboard on alkalinity. The reptilian (reptilian are fallen angels) have always used excess alkalinity as a means to weaken, brainwash, and possess humans. For example they do this by feeding prisoners of war only fruits and vegetables. The present day human body also needs acidic sugar and meat. My 3 year old stevia is about as potent as this one. But tastes a bit stale. This brand bulk supplements is excellent potency wise, and no additives. Stevia and Monk fruit are said to be th safest of the sweeteners, from what i read. Remember - it's an acidic bloodstream that causes tooth infections. I have cured root canals with alkaline foods and topical thereputic grade oregeno oil. Alkaline promoting Stevia has become a godsend there4. These clues: Because I'm the world leader, in the future stevia will be available laced with blackstrap mollasses powder ofcourse duh. Temper all your artificial sweeteners with this wonderful product. Blackstrap molasses is the sugar god (Yahuah, His throne is in the sun) particle that Lucifers poisonous kids removed from white sugar. Has minerals, vitamins, concentrated flavor, aroma, etc. Very healthy. It will turn your hair white again lol. Seriously. Copper does it. To get all 90 trace minerals, just read my Tangy Tangerine recipe where I reveal to mankind a homemade mineral rich alternative to that overpriced rip off. (Start by buying 44lbs AZOMITE, heaping teaspoon a day. About 3,600mg adults.) And don't eat Lucifers POISON salt either. Buy 35lbs Himalayan ebay. And no, that won't last u NEARLY a lifetime. Do thmath. U eat more then u think. Buy 3 5 gal buckets (15 gallons) BS molasses websteraunt $137 shipped. Comes with 3 free buckets. (Here is how I did the math: .34 gram = 1/4 teaspoon stevia which = 1 Cup sugar. (208 grams sugar.) 1,000g รท .34 = 2941 cups sugar per kg stevia. 2941 x 208 = 611,764g (1348lbs sugar) sugar per kg stevia. 1348 รท 25lbs sugar bag = 54 bags. 54 x $12 bag = $648 vs $78 per kilogram stevia.)

Unbelievably bitter compared to CCNature...
As I donโt use artificial sweeteners and need to limit my sugars, Iโve been making Stevia sweetened soda syrups for the last year with CCNature, which is amazing. Then I finally found an unsweetened flavor that worked so well together that I decided to start making more flavors and having more varieties. Thatโs when I decided to try out BulkSupplements, since they had more affordable large batches and the reviews were โalmostโ as high (4 stars for BulkSupplements and 4.5 stars for CCNature). A few people mentioned some โslight bitternessโ if you โused too much,โ but I thought it was worth the risk. I was WRONG. First off, even though they claim to have โno fillersโ, just like CCNature, the weight was totally off between the two brands. What weighed 82 grams for CCNature weighed just 50 grams with BulkSupplements. (And lighter is essentially never better when it comes to things like this.) Second, itโs very hard to get it to dissolve in liquid, even when heat is applied, so you feel like youโre trying to mix crushed marshmallows into cold milk. Most of the time, youโre just making a mess. Finally, there was no โslightโ bitterness, nor was it an aftertasteโit was almost the entire taste. Like burnt cola syrup bitter. I tweaked my recipe three different times to try to get the syrup palatableโbut all I succeeded in doing was make weaker flavored soda that was still bitter. Of course, thereโs no money back guarantee, so Iโm stuck with this bitter stevia extract that is truly wretched. Unless youโre using truly microscopic amounts (at which point, why wouldnโt you just use pyureโs granulated stuff you can get at the local grocery?) and/or youโve never tasted truly smooth Stevia (and this is actually better in comparison), avoid this at all costs. I have learned my lesson and will be going back to CCNature.

Amazing Product and Company. Highly Recommended.
This is the third time I have ordered this product. I rarely make reviews, but honestly this company deserves it. First, this is 100% Pure Stevia. It is processed, which means that it is mostly made up of the parts of the Stevia plant that we detect as "sweet". This is a good thing because unlike simply drying and powdering the leaf it helps the Stevia dissolve when used. This also helps reduce the bitter or off-putting taste that many people experience with Stevia. This can still happen if you use it in vast quantities, but more on that in a moment. Second, the service of this company is top notch. It is one of the reasons I come back here again and again and have even turned to them for other supplementation. Their products are not only some of the cheapest (if not THE cheapest around), their service is excellent--often arriving a day or two after the order is placed, and the Stevia itself is some of the best Stevia I have ever tried. Third, it should be noted that all Stevia products can develop an aftertaste if used in large quantities. One of the things that makes this product superior to all other brands that I have tried is that you can use more of the Stevia before this starts to happen. I use the Stevia mainly to make Sweet Tea which would normally require a lot of sugar. 1 teaspoon of Stevia Powder is roughly equal to 1 Cup of Sugar. So, to make my Sweet Tea I use 1 teaspoon of the Stevia Powder. Because I start to find Stevia develops an aftertaste after about 1 teaspoon and a half, I then use 1/4 teaspoon of Sucralose Powder, also purchased from the same company. That is all I need to make an entire gallon of Sweet Tea. As a result, purchasing this has saved me huge amounts of money as I do not have to purchase expensive artificial sweeteners that have a lot of bulk fillers. One 100 gram bag will last me months and months, roughly four to five to be exact. As a result, when I made my third purchase, I purchased an even larger bag. The only negative thing that I can say about this product deals with the bag itself. It can be rather difficult to get that last bit of Stevia out, but this is such a minor complaint that is not really even worthy of criticism. I cannot highly recommend this product and company enough. I plan to purchase more things from them in the future.

Great for baking
I was provided BulkSupplements (Bulk) stevia powder for review and in stating that, I want to be clear and honest in my review of the product. They did not request a positive review, but only that I review it. TLDR: Great for baking. Adjust your recipes because this stuff is much more powerful. You get a lot more bang for your buck than similar powders. Value: Being introduced to stevia at Trader Joes, the bottle there sells for $10 and has 1oz of powder (28.25g). Though I have not researched all the stevia powders on the market, Bulk provides a great value when compared to Trader Joes. Bulk has 3.53oz of powder in the smallest size (100g) selling at $15 currently. Pay $5 more, get 3.5 times the powder. However, you get an even better value when you consider the grain size of the powder (more on that below in the Taste section). These are prices and container amounts at the time of my review, March 2017. Taste: Stevia is known for a strong aftertaste, especially when it is used incorrectly. Because of the strong sweetness of stevia, a little can go a long way and too much is cloying and gives that bitter aftertaste. Bulk's stevia powder is so fine, that you end up getting more per measure. Different manufacturers produce the powder in different ways. Some leave it more granular, while others make the powder so fine that it goes airborne when rupturing a bag similar to opening a container of cocoa powder. Bulk's powder is so fine, the grains can fit so much more closely together that you end up getting more stevia per measure. Look at the first picture I included in my review. Trader Joes fits 90mg (or 0.09g) while Bulk on the right fits 130mg (or 0.13g) using the same measure. In this test, I got 44% more stevia using the same measure! Scientifically, those smaller grains can activate more taste buds on your tongue and thus using too much or even the same volume used in a previous recipe will throw your taste way off! You have to adjust your recipe to use less powder if you use Bulk, so you end up saving money. Check out the second picture to get an idea of the grain size when comparing stevia powders. The second picture shows Bulk's powder on the left and Trader Joe's more granular powder on the right Nutrition: Obviously, you've done your research and know that stevia is a non-caloric, natural sweetener; however, not all manufacturers prepare powder in the same way. Some use machines to grind the powder while others first use chemicals to leach out the extract from the stevia leaf. Unfortunately most manufacturers don't state which method they use. Bulk is not any more clear about that either. It doesn't state how the powder is derived on their website nor the Amazon product page. Elucidating this fact could go a long way in convincing someone to purchase their powder. The powder has a yellowish hue. Most powders like this or those with a more greenish hue are more naturally derived and are not bleached. I can't say the same for Trader Joes, though it may just need to be ground down further as light may just reflect off the surface of the grains in Trader Joes' powder differently giving the white color look. It's a scientific thing :) Baking: I first attempted the raw taste taste by applying the powder directly to my tongue. Though it was a small amount, it had such a strong aftertaste. I next measured out two glasses of water (probably should have used milk) and put an equal volume of Bulk's stevia in one and Trader Joes' in the other. Again, Bulks' was more powerful. I then baked muffins using the same volume of powder and the same recipe. Bulk's tasted sweeter and had no aftertaste. The point is, you have to dilute stevia to get the most effect out of it. I imagine using stevia in a pie, custard, or frosting can be difficult since you have to somehow spread out a small amount of stevia to dilute the taste. That powder is going to have direct access to your tastebuds in the medium of cupcake frosting while in a cookie, there is a lot more going on in that bite that will dilute that taste. You have to experiment with stevia. Because Bulk's stevia is so fine-grained, I'm sure if you made enough frosting or pie filling, it would be able to spread out over the mixture. Something like Trader Joes' powder may only spread so thin before you have areas of the mix that don't have any grains of stevia. Bulk's performs better overall if you know how to use it. It provides a better value too. The star is knocked off for some of the usability deficiencies I mention below. Suggestions to the manufacturer Bulk Supplements: One thing I would suggest to Bulk Supplements is a better bag design, like the cocoa powder mentioned above, opening a bag like this causes the very fine stevia powder (which is very precious) to go flying. Additionally as these bags are sealed, they go past the zip lock line which you press to reseal the bag once opened. Again, the powder is so fine that is gunks up the rails and prevents it from closing. I have to gently knock the powder loose so that when I use the bag, less powder gets thrown out. Even then, I have to fold over the top of the bag and clip it since the bag zip still won't lock. I'm not sure if its patented, but Navitas Naturals uses a bag that opens on the back via a tear-away strip. This causes less powder to fly out when opening. The other thing is clearly stating how your powder is derived. All my knowledge of stevia powder indicates that your powder is derived through a more natural mechanical process than a chemical one, but if someone is unsure because you don't state that anywhere, they might just pass on your bag. Cheers though for having that other ingredients line on your bag, "Other ingredients: none." It's just stevia in the bag.

This is the real deal!
Folks, this is not that "Stevia in the Raw" crap bonded to maltodextrin or dextrose that you find in the stores, this is the pure stuff in all it's brutally sweet form. It's so strong, a single level teaspoon will make a gallon of iced tea "Bojangle's sweet". I do a little thing with my friends - the "Stevia challenge" (similar to the cinnamon challenge popular on YouTube). I dare a friend to moisten a finger, dip it in the powder and touch to the tongue... some have said they couldn't eat anything sweet for a week! Ha ha! But in all seriousness, the Stevia from BulkSupplements is the real deal... pure and in its normal concentrate. The sweet is brutal and has a bit of an aftertaste, HOWEVER, I have found mixing a small part sugar (agave, honey, etc) makes it quite pleasant. Stevia has a way of boosting the sweet of sugars... leading to the "a little goes a long way" to apply here. This not only improves the taste, it extends your supply of the product and can cut caloric intake by 1/3 to 1/8!!! For iced tea southern style or "Bogangle's sweet", mix 1/4 cup sugar (1/8 cup honey or agave) with 1/2 teaspoon Stevia and mix into t gallon of tea. Perfect and barely any sugar PLUS, it's all natural and digests/metabolizes easily. I would NOT recommend for baking unless you figure that minimum sugar ratio and Stevia "boost" to taste. In other words, what is the minimum amount of sugar your cookies need to bake right... then find the amount of Stevia to make them properly sweet. Stevia works best as a "boost" to sugar - use 1/4 to 1/8 the sugar you would normally use and bring to desired sweetness with the Stevia - but watch out, this is strong stuff! This product from BulkSupplements is great! No fillers, additives or other crap you don't want... just pure Stevia extract. You can use it by itself but expect a little aftertaste... not unpleasant, but you do taste it. Use it as a boost for a small amount of sugar and you will use this every day for everything from coffee and tea to baking and other uses where you want to reduce or replace sugar. I've found this product from BulkSuppliments to be one of the best quality and best priced Stevia products on the market. If you came here looking for a good Stevia product, this is it! Great job BulkSupplements for bringing us such a good, high-quality product at a great price!

Great flavor and very powerful.
Excellent quality and flavor. This is the best way to sweeten naturally. Just a tiny amount gives a tremendous amount of pure sweetness with nothing added.
