Save your money or look for some “fisher crutches with shaped handles”
I bought this as my hands where really starting to hurt on the standard NHS crutches. Sunrise Cooper crutch. The grips themselves are quite bulking when put over the crutch handles, i actually had a few wobbly moments trying to get used to this. These are quite tight to get on but sadly due to fact crutch handles are tappered there is a bit of a gap at rear of cover. That tends to mean cover slides forward.Quite expensive considering i looked on internet at Surise medicals web site and the NHS crutches cost 8quid to make and these covers are £20 to buy.Main question: do they actually help? There are still pains /brusing on palm of my hands from using the crutches. So they havent really helped much but better than nothing.I would suggest getting some form and a couple pairs of socks. If you could secure that and save yourself 20quid would be much better.

good solution, eases pressure on hands
these are worth getting and certainly ease the pressure on your hands when on crutches. I brought them before going on holiday as i knew i'd be using the crutches a lot. You do need to read the instructions as i placed one on the wrong way around. It still works fine just not as designed and marginally not as comfortable. Getting them off is not easy and i stopped trying after an initial go thinking they would likely break and become too big and constantly be spinning on the handle.Used on standard Cooper NHS crutches. You'll some reviews that they don't fit these - this is understandable as it takes a little work to get them over the ridge, but they do fit, you just need to work them over gradually whilst twisting.4 stars? I think they are a little pricey for what they are and i guess you could manufacturer something similar with foam/t-towels etc. However, these are a good purchase if you are in the market for a solution like this.

An absolute life (hand?) saver!
I have found myself reliant on crutches having fractured my ankle. Within 24 hours of receiving my pair of standard issue NHS crutches my hands were in agony, so I decided to look online for a solution which might make the next six to eight weeks more bearable. There were a few sets of the Oarsome Crutch grips being sold by Amazon Warehouse Deals as 'Like New' but without a box, so at 50% off I decided to go for it.The grips arrived this morning and they have already made a huge difference. They are made of a flexible rubber-like plastic. They look well made and look like they will last. They also appear to be easy to clean should that be required. The hollow bit you can see in the picture faces upwards so the grips provide a cushioning effect for your hands, thus hugely reducing / spreading out the pressure on your palms. The hollow bit squashes down when pressure is put on it but springs up again instantly, so I can't foresee its positive effects reducing any time soon. They are a bit tricky to fit and require a lot of wiggling but I can confirm that they fit my 'Coopers' / Sunrise Medical crutches quite well. The leaflet provided with the grips suggests submerging them in warm water or using washing up liquid to help ease them on, I did not find this necessary, an up and down wiggling motion seemed to do the job.Oh, I was lucky enough to receive a pair of bright yellow grips. Not a colour I would normally opt for but considering the difference they make I'm not complaining. They also brighten up the dull grey a little bit!Honestly, I cannot recommend these enough and am looking forward to being more mobile now that my hands aren't so painful. Look out for the reduced price 'Open Box' products being sold my Amazon Warehouse Deals; they are brand new, in cellophane, with the product leaflet and they aren't fragile so do not require the box for protection.I haven't had these long so will be sure to update this review if I encounter any issues with the grips.---So, I have been using these for just over 24 hours. All the time I was using them around the house they lived up to expectations, making a huge difference to my hands. Unfortunately, on a trip out to the shops I discovered quite a large flaw, which I think has been mentioned by others. The grips are not held in place so when pressure is exerted on them they begin to rotate, this combined with the backwards and forwards motion of the crutches means the grips slowly creep forwards, gradually working their way off the crutch handle. The only way to resolve this is to keep stopping to push the grips back into place or to tape them into place. Another issue is sweaty hands, I would advise using these with gloves if you want to prevent loosing grip / dealing with slippery crutch handles.I still hugely recommend these as they are a massive improvement to the bog standard crutch handle. However, if you are going to be quite mobile I would consider looking elsewhere or trying to fix them in place somehow. I am now going to try a pair of C9s [...]

No sore hands at all
I have really enjoyed using crutches with these. They cushion and soften as you walk. They do spin around sometimes but not annoyingly. They are left and right handed so you have to put them on the right way round. The writing is the outside of the crutch.

hard and uncomfortable and can't be returned
Uncomfortable and hard. Strange hollow built in so you get a sticky noise in use. Looks like they are made for another purpose and are sold off as crutch handle guards. Don't bother. They don't accept returns either. Don.t deserve 1 star but am obliged in order to submit review.
