Light It! By Fulcrum, Lanterna, Wireless LED Touch Lamp, Pearl White

I live in the middle of nowhere in the Sierra Nevada where our power tends to go out a lot. I bought this lantern in December of 2013 and it's still working with the original batteries I put in it back then. It's been over four years now! I turned it on today, though, and notice it's finally gotten dimmer, so it's time to put new ones in. I've never needed to use it for more than a few hours at a time, so that's why the batteries lasted so long. But this lamp is really bright. I've read by it, walked from room to room with it, spent one Christmas Eve hanging out with a friend during a power outage that lasted for 7 hours with it... It's never let me down.TIP: Something I started doing early on is find places to put it that are above my head, like on top of the fridge or on top of bookcases. Placing it somewhere high makes it much brighter than when it's on a table below eye level. Just the one lantern will light the whole room — not as brightly as normal lights, of course, it's just a single lamp in one spot after all, so you probably wouldn't be able to sit at the opposite end of the room and do something unreasonable like threading a needle, but it's definitely bright enough to be able to leave it in one spot and still see what you're doing around as you move around. So if you need to light a large area, give that a try.

We purchased this lamp 4-5 years ago (2014) when they were still using AA batteries, and have loved it. It is especially lovely to have during power outages.However, we wanted to buy a second one today (in 2019) and noticed that lamp now uses C batteries instead of AA. If you already have a battery charger for C batteries, go ahead and buy this lamp. If you're like us and only have a charger for AAA/AAs, I'd recommend trying to find an older version of this lamp that still uses AA batteries, or go with some other model.One exception to my recommendation to finding a AA version would be if you plan to keep it on for long periods of time. In that case, you might prefer the C version because C batteries have about 3 times the capacity of AAs. So it should last longer than the AA version. We generally use ours only a few minutes a day and only need to change the AA batteries about twice a year.Interestingly, the description says the current model also can be plugged in. Maybe someone will find that useful. But there are so many better lamp options available if you have access to a power outlet. We like to use ours outside on the deck and in other areas where corded appliances are impractical. This is also a great lamp to have during a power outage because it provides better light than candles and is so much safer.

Pros:(1) Stylish(2) Portable(3) Easy touch on and off(4) Can entertain drunk guests for hours (I have seen this happen.)(5) Can be used for a variety of improvised games that no one will remember in the morning (I have seen this happen.)Cons:(1) Not extremely bright(2) So much fun it may be stolen by drunk friends (I have seen this happen. I would recommend buying a spare.)

I ordered this lamp because I lost power at home due to bad weather. Now I am prepared for the next power outage!This LED lamp takes 3 size C Batteries (not included). I love this lamp, just a light touch on the top to turn it on and off.

The switch that controls the outlets where my bedroom lamps plug in is not near my bed, so I have to walk a few paces in the dark when I get in or out of it. This nice little light is the perfect solution. It's stylish and solid so it doesn't slide around on my bedside table. The color temperature of the LED lights is toward cool white, which I wouldn't want in LEDs that I leave on, but since I only turn this on for a few minutes per night at most, the light is fine. I suspect the battery life will last a long while the way I intend to use the lamp. The LEDs cast enough light to light a good circle of space. Best of all the "one-touch" on/off switch hardly takes any pressure at all to activate. I've only used my "Light It!" for a few nights so far, but every time I turn it on I find myself muttering "Neat!" Overall this is really nicely designed and extremely functional light. Just what I wanted and well worth it for only $20.

I've ordered a couple of these in the past few months for family that fell in love with them. They all take 3 AA Batteries. I just ordered 3 more yesterday. They arrived this morning. All 3 use 3 C batteries! I made sure to read the description and can't find anything about C type batteries. Be aware that you may receive one that uses type C batteries, so it'll be more inconvenient if you use rechargeable batteries like my family. I won't be ordering more unless they make a new product page for their type C batteries product. It should definitely state it in the description if something about them has changed.

This provides just enough light to navigate through a dark room without being uncomfortable to dark adapted eyes. It is not bright enough to reasonable read by but it is nicely bright enough to provide "night light" quantity lighting.If you need a light to light a bedroom for those middle-of-the-night trips to the bathroom, this light will be just right.

I gave this 4 stars because when I bought this lamp about a year ago, it had 3 different levels of lighting by touching the top of the light. This made for a great bedside and desk light to be able to get 3 different intensities of lighting while reading or working on my tablet. This model, unbeknownst to me, just has one level of lighting now. I was very disappointed as I bought 2 of these thinking it is the same light that I originally bought. Okay to keep them.....though it only gives the one level of lighting.
