Love my EllaRoo Ring Sling!
Love, love, love my Ellaroo Ring Sling. Great quality and price. You could spend less and be unhappy with quality. You could spend more on say a silk Sakura (which are totally worth it). Or you could spend middle $$ on Ellaroo and be very happy with style, quality and performance. My wife has not quite embraced the ring sling, but I cannot imagine life without it. I have a bad neck and back, and this is a true life saver for me. Once you get the rings figured out, rings slings are incredible IMHO. Super compact and versatile, can stuff into Mom's purse, diaper bag or wherever. I wear baby up high for burping, then loosen and drop down to the hip for hanging out (pun intended), and loosen a bit more to cradle for sleeping. Did that at a birthday party and kind of blew away my wife's friends when they realized I had just loosened the rings, put Ms. Baby into the cradle position and she napped for 30 mins. When baby wakes at night and needs a little TLC to go back down, just a few minutes cradled in the ring sling works like a charm. Mom often taps me in to "ring sling" the baby after 3 AM nursing and she won't go back down... Knock on wood, she usually goes back down in minutes once we start bopping in the Ring Sling.Folks if you are thinking about a ring sling, this one gets my vote every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Great Product but wish I could have used it longer
I loved using this sling with my little one as an infant. The material is very sturdy and easy to adjust ensuring a snug hold making it easy to use walking around preforming errands or chores around the house. However, now that my child is more of a toddler than an infant, I very seldom use the sling - the hip carry option is more of a "helping hand" to support some of the weight but will not allow you to keep both hands free. I ended up with one hand around my child most of the time for stability but also because it was the most comfortable option for me as well. I later did some poking around amazon and discovered that the "Woven Wrap by Ellaroo" can still be worn as a sling wrap in addition to allowing for varieties of other carrying positions (including back carry!). That being said as much as I love the idea of the woven wrap the ring sling does provide for a simple adjustment vs a complex process as well as peace of mind that you placed the child correctly every time. Overall I really enjoyed using my ring sling but stop short of 5 stars only because I had hoped to use it more in my little one grew into the toddler years.

One of the nicer ring slings around, I think. But...
I have the "Sue" pattern...its prettier in real life than in the picture. The fabric is light, very breathable with nice, subtle diagonal stretch. The material seems quite strong, and definitely couldn't be called bulky...I might almost call it sparse; the fabric seems narrower than most ring slings. The fringe is much prettier to me than a square cut on the fabric that most slings have, and I'm sure baby will enjoy it, too, in time, as she gets older. When they say "lightly padded" they mean "*almost* padded"; If there is a shred of cotton batting in any of the rails or shoulder, it is almost impossible to detect...it seems more like a couple extra layers of fabric in there.I haven't used it yet with baby (she's due this month), but I have had 3 other children and used many other ring slings, as well as other carriers, to compare this to.The one thing that has been a shock to me, is that the colors bled permanently when I washed it, by hand in cold water. I let it soak for an hour with a bit of biokleen detergent and when I came back to it many of the stripes had bled into their neighboring stripes. I don't know what to do about this situation yet...I *will* need to wash it again, I'm sure...babies have a way of spitting up all over their carriers...

The product is great. It's just that our LO loves to keep her legs stretched out so we can't keep her in a good position in this.

Strains the back
I returned this item.I was excited to try the Ellaroo because it is one of the most highly regarded ring slings out there. I wanted to love it because I love wraps and snuggling with my baby while walking but I found the k'tan to be too hot now that the weather is 80 degrees. Baby is only about 14 pounds now but with the ring sling, I was kilted over to the side with all the baby's weight on my shoulder - to keep myself straight, I strained some interesting back muscles, and I couldn't keep her in it for more than a few blocks comfortably. I love the k'tan and moby, but since they're too hot in the summer and the ring sling is so darned uncomfortable for a baby larger than newborn size, I'm going to have to use the structured carrier (ergo) and stroller to keep her comfortable this summer. I returned the ring sling because of back pain.

Not like the picture
Product does not match the picture. This wrap was about 3ft shorter than I believed it would be according to how it looks. My 8 week old baby doesn't fit into it. Huge waste of money.

for carrying - I prefer the traditional baby carriers as this was quite fiddly to use, cuts in a bit around babies neck so could use a padded collar really.Discreet breastfeeding- I have a hot baby and didn't find it as breathable as cotton would have been either.Only used once; use the baby carrier which holds baby in front of me facing out all the time and she's much happier

Bought for my lola
Lovely sling but be careful the dye comes off onto your clothes even after 1st wash.Great size for young babies but not quite wide enough for my chunky 14 month old.

Great product
Better than Moby wrap or ergo carrier - easier to use and more comfortable to wear
