V76 by Vaughn Grooming Cream, 5 Fl Oz

This cream provides good structure for your hair - your hair won't be stiff like traditional hair pomade or gel. It feels more like hair conditioner to me (it leaves my hair very soft to the touch after drying), and yet keeps your hair mostly in place. It also does not flake like gel, or feel sticky/grimy like pomade after a long day. I've never felt the need to shower purely to remove the product at the end of the day as a result.The scent is amazing too.

This is the only product I've tried that really is light. Scent is ok but slightly annoying.

It's very light control. I used it as my hair got longer with quarantine. I put it in damp hair and combed it through for a slick matte look. As it dried, it was like it was barely there, but lost control of strays during the day. Once it's completely dry, if you brush it through, it loses almost all of it's control and I was back to my long, fluffy mop. Easily reactivated by wetting hands and moistening hair, but who wants to do that? Washes out easily. As for the smell, you love it or you hate it. It has an herby, patchouli type of smell that is strong when wet. It may dissipate as it dries, but I had no one to smell my hair when dry with all the social distancing. I like to wear cologne so I don't want any conflicting aromas on me.

It holds hair in place without being sticky, hard, or oily. Your hair will be soft and supple and appear and feel like there is no product in it. Natural looking and smells delicious.

I like a light holding gel. Most seem to glue your hair into a hard-shell plastic cap. I still want my hair to look and feel like "hair".After "Joe Grooming" stopped making a light hold cream and went only to medium-strong hold, I lost my favorite go-to products. This Vaughn V76 is the next best thing. If you want a light hold, this is one of the only ones out there for you. I wish more manufacturers would make a light hold cream.

I was looking for a light grooming cream, since the one I've been using can be too heavy on my fine hair. This product is perfect for what I needed - extra weight on the fly-away hairs that often have a mind of their own. I also like that the faint scent disappears quickly, so it doesn't conflict with other scents I might put on.

This product line is very good. Cruelty free and not caustic, these products do what they say. I have medium length, usually, fine and way hair, colored due to a high percentage of greys/whites. This product seals and sets my hair so nicely. I use a medium amount on clean hair and an average, pea sized amount on second day hair. Nothing gets stuck, no sticky build-up, which I loathe. This is a superb cream! Shine, texture...smells amazing. If you need more hold, when your style is dry, use a paste or wax. This is the best hair cream I have ever used.

It’s a little stronger than that. It has a pleasant coconutty fragrance that does not resemble cheap shampoos or gels. It gives a sophisticated type of impression. You don’t need to apply a lot of product. I find it works best after a shower with towel dried damp hair. I like to rub the products in my fingers thoroughly to warm it up and so that it’s easier to evenly spread into my hair.What I like about this product is that it does not make it look like your hair has been drenched in gel or some other product that creates a slicked back look with a lot of shine. It looks very natural but allows for more control over the way your hair flows. The scent is on the verge of undetectable when the product fully sets.Overall, I feel like this is something I can wear on a daily basis to better manage my hair. I like this grooming cream because it maintains strand separation, and you don't end with that rock hard, goopy gel or wax finish. There's no satin "sheen," it just looks like well-styled hair.•• The Hold ••As others have stated, the hold is light trending toward medium. However, it should be noted, that's only IF you have short hair. If you have longer than an inch and a half, it has a tougher time keeping hair upward. At that point, you'll want to stick to a medium pomade, wax, or similar. For my short men's fade, it's excellent. You can use it in perfectly dry hair; although, I prefer it slightly damp. Wetting a comb and running it through is just perfect. There's no need for a shower.•• The Scent ••Most Vaughn products I've used (waxes, pastes, body washes), have powerful smells. I can literally smell musk for hours with the wax, for example. This grooming cream is the mildest. It has a light, woody, musky scent that dissipates almost the moment it's in your hair. If someone comes in for a deep, creepy whiff, they'll likely smell it. But you will not smell it because a breeze lightly caresses your head. That's the key take-away for me. I hate smelling product all day long, and I wouldn't want to put that upon the people around me.•• Feels Like It Wasn't In My Hair ••This is the 5th product I've used in the V76 line. I've never used a hair product and been able to sleep on it with a clean conscience. I always desperately want to shower in the evenings because I hate the crusty/oily feel in the morning. This is the first product that I fell asleep with, woke up, and felt like my hair was naturally smooth. It's come to be one that I don't feel terrible about sleeping on because of how light it is on the scalp. I guess that's why they say on the back, "This product doubles as a leave-in conditioner." It's fricken true. I've used so many products where I have to wash before I sleep or even wash 2x to get out of my hair. This revelation (for me), leads us into pricing.•• Note on Price ••I agree with others that the price is generally high, but Vaughn is known for their irritant-less products. You're paying for higher quality ingredients. That said, I wouldn't use this as my sole styling product. It's great for smoothly styling short hair, and it's smooth to remove, but it's still a secondary styling product, if I had to label it.

Using this as a replacement for Baxter's of California grooming cream. This has just enough hold to add a bit of texture and it's fairly matte, so it's not obvious you used a product, which is what I was looking for. In that way, it's a great substitute.But I find the smell to be strong and chemically. If you're into aerosol deoderant/body spray you probably won't mind it.
