Price is a bit high.

I was a bit concerned that the paper would be damaged when I saw that Amazon had put this paper in a large box where the inner package moved around quite a bit. I was pleasantly surprised that the paper was completely undamaged because it was securely wrapped by the manufacturer.I'm a big fan of off white and tan papers, so this paper is right up my alley. (Think used teabag brown.) It's a great value to get 70 extra large sheets for $20. Please note, seller sells 2 kinds of paper, one is transparent, the other is more opaque. I purchased the more opaque version. I'm totally happy and will probably order again if I ever use this up.I do not do Chinese calligraphy, but I am an artist. I like Asian calligraphy papers because their laid texture gives a beautiful effect when using graphite and colored pencils. This paper has a dull side and a slightly shiny side. Both sides worked equally well, giving a nice subtle striped/checkered effect.I also tested it with various pens - Pilot G2, Pilot Precise V5, Japan made Hi Tec C, Le Pen 0.05, Bic ballpoint, China Marker and dip pens with Noodler's Eel Black and Speedball Scarlet Red. The Noodler's was the only ink that didn't write well (it skipped and feathered noticeably). The Speedball feathered slightly, but not too much. I've seen worse. All other pens wrote clearly without feathering.Next, I used my Kuretake Zig waterbrush to apply gouache. This is where I'm really impressed! The marks were clear and precise. I went back in and did some wet into wet work. The paper produced some nice blending/bleeding effects that revealed the grain of the paper when dry. What impressed me most is that despite using lots of water on this very thin paper, bucking was minimal.I'm looking forward to trying Chine Colle collagraph prints using this paper with Calligo Safe Wash Etching ink, or using this paper with my Gelli plate. It should be great!

Got the thick version. Better than I could imagine. Nice

I have bought different Chinese paper before and been happy, but this I cannot imagine it taking any kind of ink, I will use it as tissue paper.
