TASCHEN The Art and Science of Ernst Haeckel. 40th Ed.

The work and illustrations are stunning, however the edition is too small to appreciate them properly. This book is similar in size to a standard recipe book rather than a large format art volume. I'd advise anyone looking for a book of these beautiful prints to check the size of this book before ordering and consider whether they'd be better off with a larger sized edition. I have returned my copy for this very reason.

So the choice is the monster £150 coffee table print or the £15-20 sized print. I can't fathom why the didn't just make it a bit bigger and sell it for £50. As per some of the other comments, I feel the impact of detail of the artwork is somewhat lost due to being severely reduced to fit the page - postcard sized in some instances.

Ive 4 now of this set of books. This one is my fave as you have colour and b&w pictures. For me they are a bit small in size but now i use my scanner to make the pics bigger.Lovely quality books

Fascinating, but the reproductions could be better. The book arrived with a torn dust jacket.

I am amazed at this incredible book. His talent and body of work is incredible. I cannot believe I never saw this before. I am amazed by his skill. I treasure this book and have recommended it to many friends.
