Q: Would this fit a height of 52.5 inches?

This Caddy is made to accommodate heights of 60"-97" so while it may not quite fit your space, it is possible to shorten the unit by cutting one of the tapered tubes included. Q: How do the baskets adjust positions?

When putting the poles together you must place the Clear Plastic stoppers in the position you want before you add the next post. You place the basket over the post and put on top of the clear plastic holder until it is snug onto post. Then repeat.

Q: I use the lager shampoo and conditioner bottles with the pump on top. Would I be able to use the pump while the bottle is on one of these racks?

Hello and thank you for your question. All of the shelves are adjustable and can be placed in whatever location you desire so that they can accommodate larger bottles with a pump. Each shelf can hold up to five pounds so it is recommended not to exceed that amount in order to avoid compromising the stability of your unit. Q: Rust usually starts on & in the pole. The outside is chromed. Is the inside of the pole chromed, too? Or will it rust?

As far as I could tell, it was only one solid piece of chromed pole. It has stoppers at both ends. Mine has been assembled and in the shower for about 6 months. It goes tub to ceiling. The caddy does not show any signs of rust whatsoever. Not even on the shelves that I really load up with skin & hair products. I hope this helps.
