Q: How do use this to find a satellite as apposed to a regular compass

You don't use it to find a satellite. You use it to find a direction and elevation so you can see if there is any obstruction between the satellite and the dish. A regular compass will not show you the elevation.

Q: How does it compare to Suunto Tandem in terms of accuracy?

I've used both pretty extensively for satellite dish installation, I haven't noticed any noticeable difference in accuracy.

Q: In what country are these made?

Not sure of country of origin, but it reminds me of previous Danish-made compasses I have used. Same construction, and very accurate.
