I REALLY liked this crochet book with the patterns in it. I made a sweater from the book and really like it and enjoy the sweater.. The patterns are not that hard and this sweater was my first 4 piece sweater. I would say its for intermediate crocheters or really if you honestly can follow a pattern to make a hat, you make one of these sweaters. I did get a little help from youtube videos on how to piece together the sleeves to the body to sew together. But otherwise, its a very good crocheters pattern book!

I haven't finished it yet, but I have the Essential Cardigan well underway, and I'm excited to finish it. Yes, its plain, and I like that.... just a tiny bit of style in the edging and wonderful buttons. This book shows the way to beautiful sweaters without bulk!. Such a concept! The Essential cardigan and pullover are designs that I will wear again and again, and it would be easy to introduce design changes to dress them up. I really like having opportunity for creativity. This book has more than enough designs that will wear well for many years. I'm very happy with it. The directions are easy to follow, by the way.

This book has a number of projects to choose from. Some are a bit more advanced but there are plenty of newbie patterns too. In the beginning you will learn the basic crochet stitches as well as how to fit the pattern to your measurements. (Something that will truly make the garment yours.)Lots of great photographs are included as well as charts. These are very nice designs. I've worked only one sweater so far, but found an error in that pattern early on that, if I weren't an experienced crocheter and realized that could not be correct, would have ruined the piece. This makes me second guess every other instruction, so I feel like I can't trust it. Be careful and keep track of your stitch counts. Otherwise, it's a great pattern book.

I wanted to find a book for curvy girls that wasn't the same old boxy crochet patterns and at the same time wasn't the same smaller sizes in need of mathematical tweaking to arrive at my size. ALL the designs are really cute and totally wearable, and versatile enough that changing the yarn or tweaking the trim here or there can completely change the character of the garment from every day to fancy to office wear. Love it, already almost done with one pattern and planning others, my book is filled with sticky notes!

I was looking for patterns with more ease than most current fashions. Tight fitting sweaters don't work for me. I think the patterns are good styles. I have not crocheted any of them yet so I can't comment on whether the directions are accurate or easy-to-follow. I think the book would be more pleasant reading (yes, we crocheters enjoy "reading" books of patterns) if the models were pleasantly plump. These models were a little more than plump and it is a bit of a turn-off. Just have to look beyond that to appreciate the patterns.

Now this has some nice stuff to crochet! One super jacket with a draped lapel in stripes or make it solid, ideas and patterns are laid out for each project. The is a lovely skirt which I just might try because it looks lighter than other crochet skirts I've seen. The photos are captivating and give a good idea about the project's shapes. Nice ideas for different yarns and even cotton! You won't regret this purchase!

I did a lot of crochet 20 years ago and would have liked some revision of the stitches. No instructions here, I had to google them. There are maybe 2 of these patterns, I would make: crocheted capes are not for me and I can't imagine who would like them. The wools are American and it's not easy to substitute as the weights are different.Would have liked some summer weight designs in cotton.

I am very pleased with this book of crochet patterns. There were lots of choices of things to make and my next project is from this bok.

Absolutely fabulous book, clearly written and with lots of WEARABLE designs for us curvy girls. Lots of info to encourage you to tailor the patterns to fit your body perfectly, rather than just blindly following them.Outfits shown on a range of real female models, including larger women, this book really is awesome, I can't rate it highly enough! :-)
