Beautiful flour in a gorgeous package
Really top quality cassava flour. Free running, thoughtfully made with a slight sherbety back note from the vitamin C content. No mustiness, which shows its really fresh.

THIS FLOUR IS NOT FOR BAKING, ITโS FOR UBUGARI/FUFU!!
I havenโt bought this flour from Amazon yet but being very familiar with Rwandan products, I thought I will write this reviw, to save people from making the mistake one person made and they wrote in their review that they got poisoned! Yes this flour comes from poisonus cassava, not the ones you can boil and eat! but in East Africa they know how to prepare it, before itโs milled so that it is safe to eat! Kinazi is a big brand of this cassava flour and very very amazing flour FOR WHAT ITโS MEANT FOR: Ubugali or Fufu. Hence, eaten the right way itโs delicious and addictive ๐ and itโs safe! The very best in Rwanda!!!! ITโS NOT FOR BAKING ANYTHING! ITโS FLOUR FOR FUFU! Just that! If you have it at home already, Iโm sure if you search Ubugali on Youtube, you will find good recipes of it! Iโve never used it for baking but the reviews here confimr my point! ITโS NOT FOR BAKING!!! The 3 star I gave are for the flour itself because I very much know itโs amazkng! I wouldnโt buy it here because itโs very expensive but if you know someone goimg to the country, you ask them to bring you Kinazi Cassava Flour! Itโs amazing!!! However, the seller misled people and got bad reviews!!!! Please donโt use it for anything else, I did not know that it can be poisonous as flour as Rwandans know how to prepare it ( brings nostalgia about the times spent at my grandparents) but it shouldnโt be if prepared correctly!!!

Beware this product.
I baked with this flour but thought my biscuits etc., had a strange taste. Only when I had mixed it with hot water as a cereal and tasted it did I realise it tasted acrid and really foul. It gave off a terrible smell but the sell by date is not until July 24. It also states on the bag that it is human food?? Also on the bag NOR FOR EXPORT, so I am wondering if this is safe for sale. I disposed of what was left as I would not trust it, given what I read about poor Cassava having cyanide in it. I see one other person was ill. If I buy Cassava again it will not be from this Rwandan company.

Was poisoned by it
At first I felt fine but after trying maybe half of the pack, I became very ill. I became bedridden and getting diarrhoea. I wasn't at all expecting the flour to be the problem because in the initial days I felt fine. Maybe it was making its impact gradually, because I think my stomach became feeling sensitive to jalapeรฑo before I became very unwell. Now I don't know for sure if it was the fault of the brand, I don't know if my batter should have been less runny to allow for cassava to evaporate the water. But either way, it's not for me. And I have low energy so was only eating a few things, day in and day out. Courgette, onions, and mushrooms, and this product. Maybe fish, butter, and eggs, too. When I got ill, I started to leave these things (except cassava) to see what I could be intolerant to from the very few things I was consuming, but didn't get better. Well, then I read about the symptoms of poisoning from cassava and I was amazed, I had them! And I got better after stopping the use of cassava. And I can now eat onions etc with no problem. I don't think I menstruated well the following cycle after poisoning but I'm menstruating now. I did get worried if it damaged my reproductive system as I rarely miss a period. So, I think buying cassava flour from any brand can be rather risky. Things can go wrong in its preparation for mass production, and if not prepared properly, it can poison -- especially children. After my experience I'm scared of trying cassava again, or at least its flour. And I think it's actually more tasty (and easier for me) making flatbread with the root veg rather the powder form. The one made from whole veg at home was so much tastier, absolutely tasted like paratha, if fried with ghee, and looked more beautiful, too, just like a paratha. Please read up how to prepare cassava safely at home before doing it and do not reuse the water it's boiled in. This veg needs to be handled with knowledge, I usually don't read up and so advicing from knowing the consequences! If you do buy flour, please learn about the symptoms of poisoning so you can stop it if get poisoned. And I personally wouldn't want to give it to children, it's risky. Children have little bodies so they can get a more lethal dose for their body, they can die from it. As an adult, I found it hard to even drink water, my body was trying very hard to flush out the poison. I wouldn't give it to kids at all.
