Updated: Stopped Working after a Week of Use
EDIT 02/24/2023:Well, I shouldn't have opened my mouth. Literally the day after I wrote a positive review, the cable stopped working altogether. Have tried plugging it in multiple different orientations and outlets and it will not charge. I'll be returning this for something else.Original Review:I normally don't write reviews, but I am overjoyed not having to lug around the giant power brick that my Late 2013 MacBook Pro 15" came with when I ordered it almost ten years ago. I travel a lot and this has made bringing my laptop with me so much more manageable. Some other reviewers' cables more than likely weren't used according to the wattage requirements described in the product images. You need a 60W charger minimum AND a USB-C cord capable of delivering at least that much wattage. The original charger that came with my laptop was rated at 87 watts. I paired this converter cable with an Anker 737 120W charger and a 100W Anker USB-C cord and it charges faster than the system estimates with no issues so far. Before ordering those two items, I had tried using a 30W block USB-C charger and this MagSafe 2 cable did not light up and did not charge. We will see how reliable the cable proves to be, but for now, I am thrilled.

works great
This works great so far plugging into usb-c of an HPDisplayLink4K dock for powering my MacBook Pro Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015 model. Both ends fit snugly, feels sturdy and professionally made. Now I can plug into the new usb-c docks and don't have to carry my power adapter every day.

Inconsistent, but works most of the time
I use this adapter with several different high quality USB-C cables and power adapters. In some cases the connection will be spotty and the adapter will not charge my 2015 MacBook Pro, even when the adapter is well over the 60 Watt requirement. I have official and non-official USB-C to MagSafe 2 cables and they work fine with the adaptors that cause this to be spotty (even when I add on a USB C extension cable).I will say, most of the time it works fine especially when I'm not running super heavy programs and I use my 100 Watt USB C power supplies. If you plan on buying this, just make sure you over provision your power supply just in case. I recommend the high end USB-C power supplies and cables from Anker. I can verify that both the 65 Watt and 100 Watt from them with their Power Line III USB C cables work with this adapter.Additionally, the build quality is very good and the cable is super sturdy. Magnet is very strong too.

Absolutely Perfect! Only Need To Carry One Power Supply
Need more stars. This is *exactly* what I was after since I have to do the work/personal computer thing and I didn't want to have to carry two power supplies, given that they're both kinda big and weighty-ish.Now the work PS does both, just as I'd hoped.Awesome!

LED never worked; came broken....
I bought this to connect my old Mac to monitors via. a docking station. The led light never even turned on, even on first use. I tried everything to troubleshoot, but the issue is this adapter. Do not buy.

Works great, like it was made by apple
I’m not sure why this device gets so many bad reviews, but the magnet is better than on my MagSafe 2 charger from Apple. So far it’s working great, so for the price this thing is freaking amazing.

Flakey, but usable after learning workarounds
This does the job of converting USB-C to MagSafe 2 for older macs. However, performance is inconsistent. As others note, the adapter periodically turns off the LED and ceases working. You need to unplug it from the power source and plug it in again periodically to make it resume working. The flakiness kicks in when the mac reaches full charge. The unit stops working as the mac begins to negotiate lower power requirements to avoid battery overcharge. The workaround is to use your mac without the adapter plugged in, then attach the adapter once your battery dips beneath 90% or so. The unit is reliable when it's charging your battery at 60 or 100 watts (20v 3a or 20v 5a USB-C source), and it will work reliably until your battery is fully charged again. Once your battery is charged, unplug the adapter until battery dips under 90% again. If you're only using this for charging and not simultaneous macBook use then this problem won't bother you much.Note: With this or any USB-C to MagSafe 2 adapter, you should verify that your USB-C power source supports 20v with 3a (60w) at a minimum. 20v with 5a (100w) is ideal for faster charging or 15" macBook Pro models.Having said all of this, there are other similar adapters that don't have this problem. Mine's going in the drawer as an emerency backup.
