Bosch69424 OE Electric Fuel Pump 1994-1998 Saab 900, 1999 Saab 9-3, 1999-2000 Saab 9-5, More

My son's 2002 Saab 9-5 Aero died suddenly and we had it towed back to the house. After doing some diagnosing I found that the fuel pump was dead and ordered a replacement from Amazon. The job took about three hours, mainly because we had difficulty removing the fuel pump assembly from the gas tank access hole, which is located under the rear seat. The hole is almost the exact same size as the fuel pump assembly so you have to maneuver it just so or it will never come out. After we removed it, after much gnashing of teeth and cursing, we simply removed the old one and replaced it with the new one, adding hose clamps to the fuel lines. After we put everything back together we primed the pump by turning the key to position 2 a few times, and it fired right up. Works perfectly. If I had taken it to the local Saab dealer, I know for a fact that the job would have cost over $1k. The car actually starts quicker now with the new fuel pump.

This pump fit 2002 saab 95 2.3 perfectly. It is an exact fit. We shall see how long it lasts. It is packaged in a Bosch box, but it is a Walbro pump just like Original in the tank. In addition to this, I'd buy 1/4" submersible fuel line. I only needed about six inches; Gates 27086 is the part number, and it comes in a one foot piece. You will need two fuel injector hose clamps as well. I purchased the wrong size. They will go in my tool box. The correct size is 11 to 13 MM. They fit perfectly.

It was a lot of work to get my fuel pump assembly out of the car, but once removed, it was pretty straightforward to replace the pump.Some people advise getting a replacement hose the next size up, and using a clamp... but I found that if the end of the hose is warmed with boiling water, and then quickly applied, it went on with little effort, and then shrank onto the pump like the original.It's been working great for over a 3 years now, without issue.

This fuel pump works great. Does what it is suppose to do. Installed about 2 months ago. I recommend also changing out the fuel filter as well. Have experienced fuel improvement of about 1.5 mpg, which I would attribute to the changing of the fuel filter). Never the less, a good fuel pump so far. However, I would recommend getting the "Kit", if available, which will include some of the external accessories needed for a smooth installation.Would purchase again.BTW, as for the shipping service, EXCELLENT! Ordered parts arrived super fast.

Contrary to existing reviews, this item didn't fit my 2006 Saab 9-5 2.3T. Different layout and connectors.Might be a good product, but just doesn't fit.
