SCHLAGELock Company Single Cylinder Deadbolt with Collins Trim, Aged Bronze (B60 N COL 716)

I gave up on the cheap Chinese product that was very difficult to assemble. (Also bought from Amazon) Based on technology I hadn't seen in years. (Trying to hook two wobbly tines from each direction). It took me only a couple of minutes to put this lock in place and secured.And it looks attractive too.I expect it was made in China, as so much is. But the technology and design is made for ease of use and installation. And the directions are clear.

Let me start by saying I’ve installed and changed dozens of locks over the years and this by far has been the biggest head scratcher for me. I don’t know if it was just think particular lock I got or if they all come like this but my lock came almost disassembled! The tail piece that’s part of the wasn’t screwed down. It’s typical already assemble with the lock unit. Trying to put it back together without the Schlage cylinder tool was almost impossible. And no…the included instructions didn’t tell me how to do this. YouTube did. Even when was able to assemble it, without the cylinder tool, I couldn’t properly screw down the nut enough. They were a lot of random springs and pins in the box…no idea what it’s for. Assuming it’s for purposes of re-key. Again, instructions made no mention of these parts.Even when assembled and finally on the door, the key didn’t turn properly. Had to do a lot of jiggling and get it to lock and unlock. This shouldn’t be this case with new keys. Also, hardware had scratches and dings on them. See my pics.I’ve used Schlage in the past and they usually have quality products but for some reason this one was a pain. Maybe I got a defective product. Maybe this was a return that someone else couldn’t figure out. Maybe they all come this way. But hopefully you have better luck with this than I do. This is likely going to be returned, which is unfortunate, because I got it at a good sale price and it really does look nice. Functionally, it’s a no-no for me.

Easy to install, works great

I remember the Schlage deadbolt that i installed for my parents over a decade and a half ago was better built and quality was way better. This particular unit did not come with a internal cover as the standard unit does which protects the inner mechanisms (see the pictures of the standard deadbolt from Schlage). This could have been integrated with the square metal trim.

Nice finish. Very solid. Typical Schlage quality. My only issue is that the components are somewhat loosely packed in a cardboard box (not in a plastic clamshell like the big box stores). These are not proper shipping boxes. On more than one occasion the finish has been nicked or scratched from keys or screws bouncing around in the box. A bit more packaging would be nice. Other than that these are well-made, great looking locks.

Absolutely beautiful. The deadbolt with the decorative Addison plate is a must inside and out. Improves the look of my front door drastically. Great! Highly recommend!

I bought this lock to increase the security of my garage entry door after a break-in. This lock feels strong and looks great. My garage feels much more secure and the installation was simple.

I purchased this lock just under 4 years ago. I struggle to get the key into the lock, turn it, then struggle to not break the key while working to get it back out.Very chunky and gritty feel, almost like the lock is full of metal shavings or something. Unfortunately, I'm forced to purchase another one of the same crappy model due to condo rules.
