Tomboy: The Hartigans, Book 3

Best in the Series!
I almost didn't read this after Muffin Top, but I'm so glad I did! This redeemed the series entirely and read much truer. Finally, a heroine who did not allow her insecurities to outweigh her self worth and confidence. Fallon was unapologetically Fallon, and I LOVE her! Zach was tortured just enough to be wonderfully swoon-worthy. And, while I won't spoil it, the ending was perfect for them. ❣️❣️❣️ The Hartigans are such a great family. I'd love more of their love stories, even Katie and Frank, and I'll continue with more of the Ice Knights stories, as well. I'm curious about Stucky!Still wondering what happened to poor Alex from the Epilogue of Muffin Top, though!

Favorite of the series
Tomboy is the final book in the Hartigan series, it follows Fallon who we have seen throughout the series. While I have really enjoyed all of the books in this series I think this was my favorite. It does the same thing the other books do as far as following heroines who are not classically beautiful, but what I love about this one verses the others is that I feel like her appearance isn't harped on as much. Fallon and Zach technically already knew each other, so there was no meet cute, but I did really like their first interaction. This story is pretty fast paced from start to finish as far as the relationship, it is definitely instalovey, but I didn't mind it. I liked both MC a lot, and I really enjoyed their relationship. It was nice to see the MC from the previous books, and to see the hero's of the next series (which I have already read). Avery Flynn's books are always a good time, and I will definitely read from her in the future.

Started good BUT then felt flat & rushed
H is a hockey player who got taken advantage by his managers (mom & dad) left him broke but he never reported & just a paid them off to get them out of his life. h is a tomboy who is best friend with Lucy his manager or something like that. He got sick by being poisoned by one of his puck bunnies. Lucy suggested having h check on him since she is a nurse. So there started their relationship. Everything was ok til chapter 23 where his parents went to the press & started lying on him. He didn’t want to get into it & defend himself so h did it for him. Then he got mad & ended whatever they had. Chapter 24 they got back together like nothing happened. I feel like the other stuff that was being talked from chapter 10-22 was not really necessary if you are going to create drama on chapter 23 & correct the drama w/in a few pages & now they live happily ever after… yea ok

Absolutely Love This Series
Bravo Avery Flynn!! Another great book! I absolutely loved this book. Now I am having a hard time deciding which is my favorite. Darn you, you marvelous writer you. Darn you!In this third installment of the Hartigan Series, we not only get to see more Lucy, but we get to know more about Fallon. Fallon is not a girly girl. She doesn't where makeup, fix her hair or date. Fallon is a workaholic nurse. Always taking care of everyone and fueling herself on little to no sleep. Between working at the hospital and volunteering at the clinic, Fallon barely has time for a life much less sleep. So when Lucy calls with a favor she wants to say no. Especially since it is her long weekend off. But Fallon knows something and that something has her saying yes.Zach Blackburn is the Ice Knights newest recruit and the most hated man in Harbor City. Yep he is an angry dude. But all of this attitude came from a really bad past. He really has some deep dark secrets. Secrets that could ruin what little bit of his life he has left. All this has him on the defensive, kinda like his position on the team. Team member he is not, charity supporter, hell no, friends, none and girlfriend, what's that! Yep he's a loaner.Zach is sick. So sick he calls the only person he trusts, Lucy his PR rep. Lucy is the only person he has bonded with since the trade. She understands him and helped him when he needed it the most. So imagine what he is thinking when he finds Fallon at his gate demanding to be let in. Dam that Lucy! How will Zach get rid of Fallon? Beautiful, sassy Fallon. He won't! She will fulfill her promise to Lucy. But what neither of them realize is that this will change the course of both their lives. This book was amazing. In pure Avery form it has a deeper meaning behind the romance. It is a story that most readers can relate to. Zach has trust issues and Fallon has confidence issues. Most readers, like myself don't have the confidence in ones self and struggle to fit in or feel good about how they look. This book touches on these struggles that are real. These type of subjects and stories hit close to home for some and usually make for the best books to read. I love a good book that has meaning and this book is one. This book was beautifully written and really touched my heart. I melted when I read this book. There were tears, love and plenty of laughs to go around. I am in love with all of the characters in this series. I am having a hard time trying to decide who's story I love best.Overall this book is a wonderful steady paced read. It has strong independent characters, who are lovable and real. The story is well thought out and written. It is never rushed and has plenty to keep the readers attention. It is a fun read, full of laughs. I loved everything about this book and you are sure to love it as well. So grab your copy today.

FUN AND ENGAGING 4+ STARS
'Tomboy' (book 3 in the loveable 'The Hartigans Series') is a really sweet and sexy contemporary romance. The relationship between Fallon Hartigan and Zach Blackburn is believable and the main theme is trust.Fallon (Frankie and Ford's sister) is a dedicated ER nurse who also volunteers her limited time to a free clinic. She has a conscience, a strong personality, doesn't suffer fools and is the tomboy-type rather than a glam-princess. Mostly, she's just herself. As a favour, she ends up caring briefly for Zach, the spiralling downward, unpopular Ice Knights defenseman. Hmmm, let's say she's not impressed and they clash. Zach's intense, secretive, grumpy and he has a secret.Circumstances find Fallon is pressured into being a 'support' for her beloved ice hockey team, in an unexpected way. Gradually, the two lovelies reveal themselves, their personal pressures and vulnerabilities, but all does not run smoothly.Avery Flynn writes with a fun, flirty and entertaining style, while injecting a few issues to maintain interest. Recommended for romance readers.

Fall in love with the Hartigan family!
This book was what got me through a really hectic week - I knew I had a Sunday afternoon to myself and Tomboy waiting for me on my Kindle. Well, it didn't disappoint! I'd have to say it was my favourite Hartigan book but I've loved the entire series. You probably don't really need to read the other 2 first but they do give you a bit more backstory on Zach and also make you love Fallon's best friend, Lucy, even more.Zach is a cocky ice-hockey player, Fallon is a strong & independent nurse. When the two get stuck together the sparks soon fly.I love the characters Avery Flynn creates, slightly flawed (aren't we all) and full of great qualities. The humour between the characters is fantastic and really gives the the pick-me-up I love from a funny/romance novel.

Sweet, sexy, funny, sports romance
Perfect if you are looking for a cute sports rom-com.Fallon Hartigan is a nurse. She is roped into helping Ice Knights defenseman Zach Blackburn when he gets a dose of the flu by her BFF. They have already met but she found him rude and obnoxious. Plus, as a rabid fan, she like most of Harbor City hates his guts because since he joined the team he has played really badly.Zach doesn't trust anyone, he has no friends, not since his parents and so-called managers swindled him out of most of his money and took out loans at terrible rates in his name. Now he's paying down a mountain of debt, reliant on the Knights to pay for his accommodation and unwilling to trust anyone. As a reluctant thank you for looking after him while he was ill Zach gives Fallon rink-side seats for his next game - and the Kings win! Now, because all hockey players are rabidly superstitious, the press are dubbing her 'Lady Luck' and Zach wants her at all his home games. So they strike a deal, Fallon will watch his games if he makes some personal appearances at fund-raisers for a local charity that Fallon supports. This was funny and sweet and full of grumpy hockey players, loud families, snark and hockey. I loved it just as much as the first two books in the series.

Best book in the series so far
I liked the main characters. I enjoyed the ice hockey context of the story (and how Fallon and her whole family are into the sport, not just that Zach is an ice hockey star).Fallon is not a typical girly girl. I really appreciate that the author didn't force the age-old storyline on us and make Fallon undergo a girly transformation to win the guy - a fresh approach that is very welcome. The sex scenes were really hot and felt like a natural part of the story.Likeable characters, likeable story - one of the author's better books.
