Just plug and play!
This arrived today after a sent a different brand back due to the fact it was not working as advertised. Plugged it in, go though the obligatory firmware update and set it up to record to micro-sd. Formatted the SD as NTFS and plugged it in, it found it straight away and prepared it. So set a program up to record and it recoded seamlessly to the sd card first time!Only nark I have is it's stereo only a different brand has a capture card that works with USB and a PC will record 5.1 which is great but for everyday use this will do the job! very happy!

A VERY GOOD RECORDER.
This avermedia recorder is not bad, very happy with it's performance so far. I've read some reviews from other buyers saying they had problems with their unit. I updated to the latest firmware before using the unit first time, took a little while, due to the sd card not being recognised by the recorder, after a few attempts it read the card successfully, and updated the firmware. Very easy to use, records and playback captue perfectly, no lag, and no picture breakup. Have not tested the editing media to crop your lengthy footage yet. Did not purchase this unit for streaming, just to capture images. One happy customer, and one very good purchase!! using the recorder to capture game footage, and possibly vhs, which I have not got round to testing it.5 stars, Thank you amazon.
