Marushima Koikuchi Nama Shoyu 1 Year Aged Soy Sauce 720ml - Pure Artisan Dark Japanese Premium Gourmet Barrel Aged 1 Year Soy Sauce

It is claimed to be made with the traditional pre-industrialization method, fermented in "kioke" wooden barrels and not heat treated, in the manner shown by some youtube videos (search "Murashima soy sauce"). The flavour does feel richer and more complex than any other popular brand I've ever tried. Considering the extremely demanding process required to produce this type of sauce (apparently only 1% of total soy sauce production in Japan is made this way), the value for money is excellent.

Costs slightly more than say Kikkoman but you are paying that bit more to receive a far superior sauce. Sauce made in the old way using decades old wooden barrels and giving it extra time to develop and then pressed, simply fantastic. Try with sushi and you will not regret it. it tastes a bit sweeter, less salty and very slightyly fermented taste than average factory stuff.

Excellent Soy Sauce, wonderful flavour and not too salty. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. I had one made by Clearspring before and it was good, but not as good as this one.

Great taste, adds an extra dimension to dishes when used instead of other soy sauce will be re purchasing.

As Soy Sauce, it's okay; but bought August 2022 and product expiry date is October 2022!!! Only TWO months of shelf-life left!With such a short life remaining this should have been listed with a warning, and be sold at a much reduced price.

I was thinking I was going a bit mad pay so much for this soya. BUT it is so much better flavour great for dips and dressing.

I was excited to be able to purchase a decent soy but this date issue is ridiculous. Got it today and shelf life is up in 4 weeks? I have cabbages with a longer shelf. This should be illegal
