my new favourite
amazing mic. i use it mainly for vocals of all type. very nice warm sound. not quite like the tlm 103 but you really cant complain for this price. for vocal rec i would recommend warm and low cut with -8db

Great MXL Pencil microphone - An Excellent Value!
This review is for the MXL V67N pencil microphone. It is one of 7 microphones offered in MXL's V67 series. I bought two of these from Amazon because the price was so good! The mic is finished in dark green and comes with a wooden storage box and two interchangeable gold plated capsules, one omni and one cardioid. Both of these capsules will also fit the bodies of other MXL pencil mics like the 603 and 604.A few years ago Tape Op magazine did a shootout comparing many pencil mics in all price ranges. The V67N was praised highly for it's exceptional sound qualities and excellent bang for the buck, mics under $300 category. The V67N has a transformer which probably accounts for some of it's warm rich sound. This is another great mic value from MXL.
