Eagle (Linear Tactical) Paperback – October 10, 2018

I'm not much good at writing reviews, but I chose this book because I discovered this writer last week and liked her style. Easy to read book in a day or so.The one thing that I liked, was that the story lines were not predictable. So many of the books that I have read over the last couple of years you can guess what the outcome is going to be before you get too far into the book but I couldn't with this series. I had already read the zodiac tactical books by the same author.

This is the second installment of Linear Tactical Series and I must say that I enjoyed this one even more than the first. I truly fell in love with Finn and Charlie. Ms. Crouch did an amazing job developing their rekindled relationship and readers’ hearts will go out to both of these great individuals.Finn and Charlie, high school sweethearts, seemed destined to travel on the road of life together but a fork in the road led Charlie and Finn down separate paths, each with life altering consequences.... for Finn it meant a son named Ethan and for Charlie, a loveless marriage to a man with wealth and means.I adored Ethan and his resilience. Ms. Crouch gave us insight into the reality of drug addiction and the impact on the unborn as well as the residual effect on children born to addicted mothers. Ethan paid the price but was fortunate to have a father who, once aware that he had a son, became the “daddy” he deserved. Charlie’s relationship with Ethan, helping him with his learning disability was an inspirational and interesting read. Ethan’s friendship with Jess was sooo endearing!!! I won’t soon forget the revelation as to why Ethan and Jesswere such good friends.For me one of the highlights of this story was the eventual heart to heart dialogue between Finn and Charlie about their relationship. Finn’s passionate wordswere so beautifully stated. ...”In life, we don’t see the bigger picture. We just see pieces. .... Some pieces of our past- yours and mine together are always going to be jagged and rough and difficult to look at. But maybe, when the whole is finished, it might be something beautiful.” Stellar writing!!!!I was also intrigued by the strip club storyline and a glimpse into the work life of the dancers and bartenders. It’s unfortunate that the money entices these girls to take on this work and we come to realize that for some it was the only way to pay the bills and provide for their families..... for a great personal sacrifice.The undercover “mission” portion of this story was my least favorite part of the book. In my opinion it was just not as well written and the sequence of events surrounding this storyline left a little to be desired. Thus, my 4 star instead of 5 star rating!In conclusion, however, I would definitely recommend this book to those who enjoy second chance romance novels. I am so looking forward to Aiden and Violet’s story as the series continues. Thank you Ms. Crouch!

This novel is the second in the Linear Tactical series and another amazing read. Suspenseful to the point I was holding my breath at times, an unexpected bad guy, and a very romantic second chance love story.Charlotte Devereaux “Charlie” is back in Oak Creek to try and build a new life. She is a Special Needs teacher with excellent qualifications, but until she gets a regular teaching job, she has to work two others. Charlie bartends at a local strip club, the Silver Palace, and cleans the facility during the day. She’s often sleeps in her car, skips meals and she has nothing “designer” in her possession, trying to support her parents in a health facility. Her love of teaching is being thwarted by her in-laws, after she divorced her former husband when he was arrested for drugs. Unfortunately, they are very influential people. After being recommended for a tutoring job for a local child she is broken hearted when she finds out it is her former lover’s son, Ethan, and Finn sends her away immediately. She has never forgotten or stopped loving him and totally regrets what she had to do to him.Finn Bollinger, former SEAL, is helping his brothers in arms run a military training facility in Oak Creek called Linear Tactical. He is shocked when he see’s Charlie, and incensed when he finds out she is Ethan’s tutor. He can’t stop his feelings though, he never stopped loving her, and after investigating a little bit, finds out her lifestyle of living in her car or cheap dangerous motels, not taking care of herself, and working in a strip club he realizes something is very wrong. He agrees to give her a chance, and she is a perfect match with Ethan, performing near miracles with his reading abilities. After an attack at her hotel, witnessed by Finn, he takes over. She has only a minor cut from the attack, but has a raging fever and is delirious. He’s done with avoiding her.Meanwhile Linear is working a contract with the government trying to find out who is leaking secrets to a dangerous group of people. This group meets regularly in strip joints, including the Silver Palace.This story has an edge of your seat ending and a twist I didn’t expect.If you love reading romantic suspense, I recommend you buy this book right away.

After Charlie and Finn’s interactions in Cyclone, I was desperate to know what the heck had happened between these two. Even after years and so much pain between these two, there is still so much chemistry between them. Charlotte is back in her hometown, trying to survive. One of the ways she intends on doing that is through tutoring. It just so happens her first student is Finn’s son. Finn was not at all receptive to this idea, but the more he notices about Charlotte and how things don’t add up, the more he’s determined to help her out. I absolutely adored Charlotte’s relationship with Ethan and seeing the two of them work together. And Charlotte and Finn? All the heat. They’re meant to be, and I love them together. Another fast-paced suspense that kept me on my toes, and I’ve already download Shamrock!

I’mLoving this series. Can’t wait for the next one! Janie does a great job building her characters and their relationships.

It was a roller coaster of emotions and just the perfect mix of danger, love and angst. One of those stories you just want to come back to. Highly recommended.

Waayyyy better than the first book, in my opinion. Will have to read the rest to find my favourite, but Finn and Charlie's story is heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. There's 🌶🌶!

A quick easy second chance ex military romance with a strong sassy heroine and a hot panty twisting alpha Male. A history of broken hearts and secrets to become mended jagged pieces that fit perfectly. Suspense filled and action packed story however bad guy was easy to figure out, but at least story was still gripping. Charlie and Finn's story is a good read and sweet.

As usual, Janie Crouch has written a winner. The characters are so well developed and the story just flows with twists and turns. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense, romance and a good story.
