Good for a quarantine tank
This is great for a quarantine situation. It treats a broad range of external problems. Not for internal problems.

My light at the end of the tunnel...
So, I started a new tank for the kidos to enjoy about a month ago, and it seems to be doing fine. But, then, I got fish from a certain dominating super store chain that cares for there fish poorly, and so it began! One at a time, day by day, fish began dropping with no apparent cause. I know of things like Ick and the tail disease that devours their fins, but neither of those seemed to be the culprit. So my 4 year old has now learned about death, and will probably ask about flushing the next dead thing he sees. In the mean time, my tank was a broth of death, killing anything that swam in its cursed waters. So, for the steep price of 17 usd, I decided to try this LifeGaurd product. One of the negatives of this product is that you pretty much have to shut down your filter for 5 days. And the treatment is 5 days long. But, after the first day, fish stopped inexplicably dying, and after 2 days, they stopped lamenting in the corners. No fish have died in the 5 days it took to treat the tank, and that may be a record, since I was literally loosing a fish per day for a while there. This product seems to have done its job very well, and, for that, I recommend it highly. I only gave it 4 stars because the price is steep and it requires no filtration for 5 days. My tank is a nastier, but ultimately less deadly place to live now!

Cured all infected fish in my community tank.
I used this medicine (as directed) in a 65 gallon tank which included 10 barbs, five corys, two clown loaches (one large one small) and two yoyo loaches. Approximately half the fish had been scratching for about two weeks before I noticed the infamous ick specks. My tank was raised and kept at 83 degrees, not directed by the medication, but advised to accelerate the ick's life cycle -- to maximize vulnerable exposure opportunities. Note: Ick is not vulnerable to medication during all parts of its lifecycle. Raising the temperature shortens its lifecycle whereby increasing the number of opportunities that the ick is vulnerable during the one week medication treatment..

A must have for freshwater fish!
This is a great deal! I paid almost 7.00 for 6 tabs, at my local store. There are 32 tabs in each box! They have on more than one occasion saved my fish, and are a must for any freshwater fish tanks, as they restore the balance of beneficial bacteria.

Important Information not on the box
Not sure what exactly went so wrong w my 29 gal tank recently. Altho my favorite fish was holding on, he was dead within 12 hours of using this product. Def make sure ur testing ur aquarium water to maintain a healthy quality bc using medication can alter the water chemistry and if it isnt in good condition to begin with, u could b asking for more trouble. If u get on tetras website and sort through the reviews and customer questions- i found information there, tht i missed otherwise. This product is repeatedly not recommended for planted tanks. Nor should it be used w invertebrates and scaleless fish like catfish/sharks. Additionally important to note, its recommended to not b used w amphibians or water reptiles- i hve african dwarf frogs and an aquatic turtle (all pets r in their own tanks). Something else to keep in mind and tht i found on their website- this product shouldn’t be used in new tanks- it’s recommended to only b used in tanks that r well established and over a minimum of 3 months old.I feel like all this information is imperative to kno and the description sh absolutely b updated and corrected.

Safe and works!
I LOVE these and keep them on hand at all times. They are easy to dose, and I don't have to guess what's wrong. This will knock it out. They don't seem to stress my fish at all either, unlike other ich treatments I've used. They are easy to use on my small tanks, including my quarentine tank. But if I'm going to treat my bigger tanks, these get expensive. Five stars anyways because if I need them, I know they will save my babies!

This Stuff Works
I had to use this product in the past when a bacterial infection took out half of my tank population. I got this stuff from a big chain store, and it cured the remaining residents.Having learned my lesson about quarantining new fish, I got some more to use on new ones prior to adding them to the general population.Monster Pets on here had a terrific price on this, and were good to deal with.
