Hooked from the first page
I bought this book a while ago and just let it sit in my library. Abigail was an unknown author to me, so I was in no rush. Boy, was I wrong. I accidently clicked it open, so read the first page. I didn't put it down until I was finished. Mona Moon is now at the top of my reading list. I also can't wait to try the other series Abigail Keam writes.

DURING THE DEPRESSION BECOMING A MILLIONAIRE IS NOT WHAT YOU WOULD THINK
Madeline Mona Moon is a cartographer. She has traveled extensively charting areas for archaeologists as well as large companies. Her life has been one of adventure and she has learned to take care of herself.Just when she is feeling very poor, she finds that she has inherited a fortune. Her father left his wealthy family in order to marry her mother. Since that time, no member of his family has ever attempted to connect to Mona.Mona knew only about her extended family by what her mother told her. But, even those stories did not prepare her for the enormous wealth which was now hers. She also did not know that there were people who would happily kill her in order to get to that money. This is a fun story. There are twists and turns around every corner. There are also “accidents” which seem to happen only to Mona.Mona is a strong character who is smart and quick. She is not sure who to trust, and being careful saves her life more than once. The family members, as well as the servants, are not certain about whether they can trust Mona. But, several servants try to quietly let her know she should be careful. The characters are all important to the story. Each of them add to the atmosphere and the sense of place. Among the fictional characters, there are a few real people thrown in to the mix.The plot is fast moving as well as entertaining. And there is humor along the way,Mona is a quick study and before very long, she is a perfect upper class woman. She can wear beautiful clothes and be overbearing along with the rest of the upper class.I liked this book very much. Ms Keam is a new to me author, but I will look for more books she has written.

A Delicious Read!
Mona Moon is a new character from the Brilliant mind of Abigail Keam. I am a HUGE fan of her Josiah Reynolds mysteries and was nervous about not being able to embrace a new heroine. But I was instantly hooked and rooting for Mona.Set during the Depression of the 1930's, Mona leaves her tiny New York apartment and life as a cartographer, scraping by from one expedition to the next, for a new life in Kentucky. With the stroke of a pen, Mona is the new heir of her recently deceased Uncle's fortune. Viewed as an outsider because of her father's estrangement from the family, before she was born, Mona will have to prove that she is worthy of being the new mistress of Moon Mansion.Who are her enemies and who are her allies in this world of privilege she knows nothing about? Was her Uncle's death really from natural causes? Not one to back down, Mona is up for the challenge!I thoroughly enjoyed this first book of the Mona Moon series. I will happily devour each new book as I did the entire Josiah Reynolds series and the charming Last Chance Motel books. Ms. Keam has created a Pinterest board to accompany Murder Under A Blue Moon. The descriptions of the time period, places and fashion in the book certainly stand on their own, but I LOVED being able to refer to the board for pictures and examples of things in her book. I hope more authors catch on to this brilliant idea. As always, her characters are so well written and I can't wait for more!

Love Mysteries in this Era
An intelligent single woman with only modest means receives an unexpected inheritance. A big inheritance. But family she never met resent her as they expected to inherit. Mona Moon is no pushover, and will not let the aunt and cousins bully her. But something is amiss at the mansion. And Mona is going to find out what is going on. I loved the mystery. But even more, I loved how Mona did not let anyone push her around. She faced confrontation head on, and she did it well. Oh my, the day she moved into the mansion, loved her response.

I was so wrong
I loved the Josiah Reynolds series by the same author and just thought that this wouldn't be as enjoyable and entertaining to read. WRONG! Completely different time period and characters but obviously as well written as her other series. This is another amazing series that I'm looking forward to losing myself in each book.

What a fun romp this book was!
I love a mystery! And I love historical fiction as well. This book introduces a wonderful, strong young woman, Mona Moon, who inherits a family fortune. She has her own happy life as a cartographer, traveling the world, but is not wealthy. When she gets notice that she is heir to the Moon fortune, she travels South to horse country to meet unknown family. She is not well received by them, as they expected to inherit the mansion & money. Mona gradually discovers her uncle was murdered, and goes about solving the mystery of who is now trying to kill her too. With help from new friends, her lawyer & his wife and the visiting, handsome Lord Farley, the murderer is revealed & a happy ending ensues. I loved this story and look forward to reading more in the Mona Moon series!

Disappointing
I have enjoyed reading this series so far. I like that Mona has been an intelligent, strong heroine up to this point. This book started off slowly for me. I had some trouble getting into the story initially. Then I was disappointed how the story came to it's conclusion. I was disappointed how much Mona depended on Robert and I was disappointed with the author telling us in two places at least that there was more drama to befall our heroine. I almost felt like this story was written by two different people. I know this is a period story but the forewarning made me feel like it was actually written in the 50's when they used to forewarn you on TV of upcoming disaster. That ruined the story for me.

An energetic explorer, her family at odds, a perplexing death - set in hard times in the USA.
A new to me mystery heroine. I'm sure I'll read more in this series. Hope she gets back to cartography and exploring the world.

Great Read
I really enjoyed this book, I love the era and I love Kentucky as the local. Mona reminds me of Miss Fisher the Aussie heroine of the same era. So if you liked Miss. Fisher’s mysteries you will love this series.

Enjoyed it very much
I love period pieces and this one was quite good. The story didn’t have a great deal of drama but still was enjoyable
