We still do read alouds in 3rd grade and this book is great! We actually did a vocabulary project to go with this book...they collected words. Great book!

Word Collecting and creating your own vocabulary. Is it a thing? After reading this book, it has to be. This book allows young children to explore and become interested in the power of words.

The Word Collector is one of my favorite books for kids! It encourages learning, creativity, communication and more. I most recently bought it for a class of second graders and had the pleasure and privilege to read it to them too!

Great for a reward aloud for the classroom. Helps children understand why words and vocabulary are so important to their academics.

We love this book! I discovered this book from former President and First Lady Obama reading it on PBS during quarantine. It is a fantastic book. It encourages the reader to learn new words, use those words and share them with the world. My son started his own word collection as a result of this book and can read most of it himself! This book also encouraged me to learn new words. The message in the book is truly inspiring. I highly recommend this book and will get it for all the children in my life.

I really love this book.

Very cute book haven’t read it to my 4yr old son yet but I read it and it’s simple concept , short sentences, some words are big to understand even I don’t know some and then there’s pages with simpler words , explains how some have one syllable some two some three and when you combine them makes a description . It comes with a paper protective cover and the actual cover book os different with words everywhere. My son is biracial and I think he can relate and it’s cute how this kid has pink hair to decrease gender stereotypes. I really love it glad I found it to help my son feel confident and cool to learn new words!!!
