No help at all with repelling any bugs or insects.But great belt so that is why we are keeping them.

Gave as a gift (with tick proof pants) to my grandson a hiking enthusiast.

I've used military style web belts for decades. When I saw this was available, pretreated with Permethrin it was a no brainer to get it. The webbing is high quality and the belt is clearly labeled so you won't forget that it is "special". Unfortunately it comes with a cheap buckle that has an unpleasant sharpish edge which you come in contact with every time you flip the latch to release it. That's unfortunate, but at least where this is a standard web belt, it is easy to substitute your own web belt buckle which you may already have on an old belt.
