Handy and works
The basket on my portafilter fits tightly and I have to remove it every week to back flush with the blank filter. I was using a knife, which was somewhat tedious. I saw this device and splurged. The device works perfectly and makes it easy to remove a basket from the portafilter. The tip that goes between the portafilter and basket is tapered, so it fits in the crack easily and with one twist the job is done. Also, the entire product, although it weights next to nothing, is made of stainless steel, so it should last. My only problem with this device is its price. For a small stamped piece of stainless steel, the price is outlandish. That said, it has made life for a house barista much easier, and in that sense, it is worth every penny.

Great tool, a must-have for the Portafilter
Well-made and very useful tool for my espresso machine

Useful tool if you use baskets with spring rings.
This works great if you want to remove a ringed portafilter basket from a portafilter with lock spring. Can also be used to facilitate removal of the shower head on an E61 machine. I don’t use this very often, but when I need it, I’m glad I have it.

Worth it!
I was killing my fingers prying off the filer basket each time to clean it but this makes it so much easier and works great! Definitely worth it!!

High quality pry bar.
If you make espresso often, you might consider getting one of these. It will keep your spouse from using the good knives to pry out the grounds basket from the portafilter. This works easily in a second or two. Very clever tool.

Does its one job
It does what it’s supposed to do. I usually use a naked portafilter so can just push it out, but I use this for the stock Gaggia Classic basket. Thought it would be a useful tool and it’s cheap enough to give it a shot. It is fairly handy. It’s attractive and does the job, but then I use it rarely, and it’s probably easier to grab a butter knife. I think I’ve used to more for prying other things, like when I don’t want to find a little screwdriver.

Nail save.
Very useful and compact, it is helpful to unmount the filter from the base it save my nails. The material is very sturdy and strong, very easy to clean and light.

Just buy it
Just buy it It is easy to use. It’s a tool you thought you wouldn’t need but in reality it made it a hell of a lot easier to pop the filters out. It’s pretty sturdy and small to store.
