My previous seat just collapsed on my in the tub...I was lucky...not hurt and able to work my way out.THIS IS THE BEST!It is more expensive but worth the peace of mind...it is well above my weight rating needs but it is VERY steady. For me assembly was quite easy...take your time and rotate your way around to tightening the thumb screws so it's done evenly. Don;t over tighten at initial connection, allow a little looseness to adjust until it all comes together as one cohesive unit.This is so sturdy and with a great variety of height adjustment I am thinking of buying another as a work stool for the shop...seems like it would "look" silly but rather look silly on it than on may ass on the floor. Therefore, I would buy again--for a second bath, for a family member or friend in need... I like it.

This was a great chair for my purpose. I used it to put my knee on. I had foot surgery and was in a cast for 6 weeks. My wife would put a waterproof foot cover on and would go in the shower and rest my knee on it. Worked perfect for my needs. I am 6ft, 330 lbs. It holds my weight. But is way to short to sit on. If you are 5 ft - 5.8 ish this should be perfect. its very sturdy.

Highly recommend a shower chair with cross bars on the legs, depending on your situation you might want one with a little cushion. My old shower chair did not have cross bars and my new shower is much larger and the legs wanted to slip and spread out, it started to collapse.

This replaced a different one that the legs were to wide for my tub, and the legs started spreading, making me nervous!I’m not that heavy, but this one is much stronger.

Putting the chair together, wasn’t complicated as far as instructions and pretty simple, however, the bars weren’t aligning as evenly or great as they should, which made the process of putting the chair together, more complicated and harder to put in the screw things.As far as the chair, its self it’s not the most best and most durable feeling thing but it does do the job. You just have to be careful and when sitting down I have to put something on it so I don’t slip off of it and fall. The seat has no grip to help u feel secure and is literally just a piece of plastic.I felt like if I tried to move around in the chair to be able to wash myself very well felt like I would slip off and fall off of it. For that reason this chair is just not what I was expecting it to be but it’s works so it’s fine I guess. I’ll keep it cause it’s alright and too much hassle to try put it apart to return and then buy another one and deal with the same thing. If it wasn’t for the hassle I’d return it.
