My daughter loved the look but I should have ordered a smaller size for her 5 inch ball. The stand is classy and blends in well with either a contemporary or eclectic room. Wish I had a pic to share.

I purchased this holder as a stand for my large oval crystal egg. The first thing I noticed was that it did not have the red felt material used to help create friction to aid in holding an object in place. On top of that, it turned out that the oval shape of my crystal egg was not compatible with the circular hole of the stand, so I wasn't off to a very good start. I managed to solve my issues by gluing a piece of extra felt I had lying around to the edges of the circular section of the holder where the egg would be placed. It had the friction necessary to stop the sliding it was doing before the felt. As long as the piece you're looking to hold is circular, you should have no issue as the unit is constructed well, but if oval is your shape, you have a workaround.

I love these stands. I had a hard time figuring out what size to get, so my advice is to measure the diameter of your sphere and then buy a stand of the same width or close to it. I purchased a large for my 5.5" smoky quartz, and it holds it perfectly. The medium is the petrified wood, and I got a small for my lepidolite/tourmaline sphere. The latter is not a small sphere. It's roughly 3.5" so definitely look at your sizes. I wouldn't size down to a smaller base than your sphere, as the hole the sphere nests in is significantly smaller as you go down in size. My smoky quartz would not have been stable with a smaller one. Also, I recommend getting felt stickers or pads for underneath, as the finish is rough on the bottom and may scratch a table. It isn't horrible, but isn't polished. I've got mine on temporary felt circles for now. The stands also sit very flat, no wobble at all, which is great. I will definitely be buying more of these, as I like them so much better than the little metal ones or the cushions. Enjoy!!

I wanted something sturdy to hold my new moss agate sphere, which has some heft and is about 5 inches in diameter. After quite a bit of sifting through ones designed for smaller orbs, I came across this one. I loved the idea of pairing my crystal with natural-colored wood to continue the earthy feel the sphere has got going for it, so I jumped on it!It's a PERFECT FIT! It's also sturdy, stable, and smooth to the touch, and has lovely grain patterns throughout. Worth every penny 👍
