Works, but pretty cheap construction
Looks like a lot of other testers out there, but the unit I received the switch is of very poor quality. Works (and it's dirt cheap) but other similar units seemed to be better build quality. Might be worth paying a little more.

It works
It does feel a bit cheap, but then it IS. Still it works, even if you need to be careful with it.It came with a case, which is nice and was unexpected.

Missing pins 6 and 7
I really wanted this to work, my co worker had a older model from this company that worked great for about a year before it burnt up.I figured a year was more then enough time for the price, well I was very disappointed when it came missing pins 6 and 7

very disappointed.
I have used this tester on several cables now. I know 100% that some of these cables work, but the tester only shows red lights no matter what cable I test. Maybe it is just my unit, but it does not work at all. very disappointed.

Its a simple cable tester, conductivity only
What does it do well? It's small, cheap and it shows your pinouts and lets you know if you're terminated wrong or if there is an open in the cable. What doesn't it do... nothing that other tools in this price range don't do. It wont tell you the frequency or length of the cable. For just testing terminations, its a simple tool that gets the job done.

No bells or whistles necessary. This tester does plenty.
It's a cable tester, and it tests cables. If that's all you need then that's all you need to know. The larger block tests for connectivity to one end, and the thinner block is for testing a (working) connection's opposite end.For reference, I'm making my own cable connections for existing 26AWG CAT 6a cabling.
