ABUSBrake disc lock GRANIT Detecto XPlus 8077 - Motorcycle lock with alarm and XPlus cylinder - ABUS security level 18 - Yellow

Had this lock for a couple of years, and seemed to work very well up until it was left in a heavy rain shower. Since then, the alarm function has stopped working. Its an easily replaceable part I think, but multiple attempts to contact Abus, with photos videos and even pictures of the four Abus locks I own, has been met with zero response. Would definitely avoid the brand, and in future look for a company that supports its products and customers. These are not cheap locks, I would expect better for my money.

Attempted theft by four scrots on scooters and (apparently) having tried to break it for a little while, nearby builders were alerted by the alarm and chased them off. Barely a scratch on the lock and they were using specialized tools. From my experience alone, well worth the money! P.s. - shout out to the builders who also chased them off!

This thing is just great, works like a charm and the audible alarms is a perfect complement for a lock this good.The are two main reasons why I like a lock with a built in alarm system and they are:- It puts pressure on the person trying to steal your bike (either by cutting it or lifting it)- It reminds me that the disc lock is on so I dont end up driving away with the lock on, so if I forget and get on the bike, as soon as I move it it will go off.Another good thing about this lock is the size, it fits on the palm of your hand so it is small enough to fit in your pocket (not that I recommend riding with a lock in your pocket) or underneath the seat.Now the cons, the lock is not easy to fit, it will barely fit on my front disk (BMW K1300R) and it will not fit on my rear disc, and also, I cannot fit it with one hand (well I can sometimes but it takes several attempts so you are better off using 2).So I highly recommend this lock just make sure it fits on your bike before buying it, which I dont know how it can be done since I dont think there is a chart with a list of compatible bikes!

Good looking lock and it definitely makes a loud sound. Only problem is that after 3 months it’s now almost impossible to open it first time. It jams and then the alarm goes off and it looks like I’m trying to nick my own bike - particularly bad if it’s early morning and I have to wake up the rest of the block of flats to get my bike out.Tried to upload a video but of course if it’s not locked round the bike then the alarm doesn’t set so its quite unimpressive...

Fell apart, both ball bearing fell out when I unlocked it to put on to my disc. Luckily I was at home locking it up.When contacting Amazon they want to charge me for authorizing the replacement, never have I heard such a thing.
