Does this come with the LS-100D

While this kit being sold here is with the alkaline battery tray and the LS-80L, Topcon does offer a kit with the LS-100D and the rechargeable battery. The alkaline batteries and LS-100D are not offered as a kit from Topcon, if that is what you want you will have to purchase the LS-100D separately. If I were going to do that, I'd consider the Spectra Precision HL-700 instead, nicer laser receiver than the LS-100D for the same price or less.

Should I have been batteries with this package

Topcon quit providing the batteries this past summer.

Does it come with aluminum grade rod?

Nope you have to buy a grade rod separately

Will the laser function correctly if flipped upside down?

It will throw off the balancing mechanism. It won’t self level upside down.
