Q: Compatible with OSX ?

As long as your Mac has USB, the AC-851B USB Stereo Headset will work. From Cyber Acoustics webpage, Windows 8, Windows 7 or Windows XP, and Mac OS X. It is a USB headset. If you are looking for a headset with mic that has one 3.5mm plug, the AC-204 or AC-404 work (those headphones w/mic include an adapter to work on PCs that have the pink/green 3.5mm plugs).

Q: If this is ambidextrous, when you switch sides (adjusting the mic boom) would the balance switch on each ear accordingly (left-right audio)?

Hi Russ, I'm not sure I understand your question. But if you're listening to a song in stereo with the mic attached to your left side and for example are hearing a song with a guitar playing more in your left ear and then turn the headset around so that the mic is attached to your right side, you'll then hear the guitar more in your right ear. (assuming you have normal hearing in both ears).Rob

Q: will this work with rosetta stone?

I have no idea if they would work with Rosetta Stone but it was the worst headset I have ever used and sent it back immediately .

Q: Is it normal for them to fail in less than a year? How do you contact the manufacturer? Or seller?

Mine lasted 2 years almost until 4 year old broke it.
