Do you like Amazon Basics PLA? Because that's what this is!
Sure it may not be called "Amazon Basics" but this filament is identical - same spool, even the Overture logo and other writing on the spool match the Amazon Basics filament line. I love this stuff, it's cheap and it works well in my Prusa MK3S and my Monoprice Maker Select Plus.

Free build surface solved age old problem!
I'm a 23 year Engineering Team Leader and side hustling Maker. You can find us on element14.com and Raising Awesome on YouTube. I was not paid or provided freebies for this review. The PLA filament worked just as any I have used before. The specs were a little wider on the diameter, but I chalk this up to them actually being honest on the true variation at their manufacturing facility. However, I mic'd the first foot and it was within +/-.02 versus the advertised +/-.05 mm.The price was $1 cheaper than the normal brand I purchase, but it gave much more value. The first cool thing is that they label their spool with the needed parameters to apply to your software for a successful build such as extruder temp and bed temp. It also shows remaining length and weight of filament on the sides with peek holes to gage it by.The big thing is the free build surface they provide. I've used glass with a gluestick, aluminum with painters tape, and aluminum with Kapton® tape with hairspray. Aluminum with painters tape works very well. However, the build surface they provide blows the others away. It provided plenty of grab and I don't have to destroy the surface or the part to remove it.Kapton® tape is messy to install (you do it like automotive window tint with soapy water) and you waste a lot of time to do it bubble free. Also, Kapton® sticks so hard, you can easily tear it when prying the part off.The build surface that came with this filament doesn't tear and holds stronger than painters tape. But, you can get it off the surface quickly without damaging your part like you risk with Kapton. To apply the build surface to one's print bed, it takes seconds. You don't have to worry about pushing out bubbles under it like Kapton® either. You need to just take care to keep it straight - not that it will affect your build - it will just bug you if you land it crooked. In sum, the filament is on the money with other brands. As long as they are giving the free build surface with it - even for an extra $1, I'd go with them.-Walnut from Raising Awesome on YouTube.com

Low Density led to major under extrusion, multiple failures in prints.
I bought a roll of this since it was on sale, and decided to try it for a two color project. The calibration cube and a couple of other tests appeared to be ok, but when I started on heavier prints for the project I started to have major under-extrusion issues in random places. I took several spot measurements of the diameter of the filament, and it was all 1.70-1.80 mm. So I knew that wasn't the issue. Yet, as you can see in the picture of the tube, there are several layers with minimal filament present, where there should have been a 4mm thick wall. The tube mechanically failed about 1/3 of the way up where those major underextrusions occurred. Examining the failure points, there were random bits of filament, then a solid line, then random bits again, etc. I was able to separate these layers with minimal force. Then I remembered that I had two calibration cubes printed with different brands of filament. Exact same g-code, so they should be really close in weight, right? Well, as you can see in the pictures, that was *not* the case. The Hatchbox PLA (black) weighed in at 5.47 grams, while the Overture PLA (red) weight 3.92 grams. Nearly 30% lighter!!! Sadly, this is not a good value if prints fail due to structural problems from underextrusion due to the low density of this filament.

Glad I gave this stuff a shot
I'm extremely impressed with the way this filament has been going through my Ender 3 Pro. Great adhesion and goes through my extruder like butter. Extruder temp 195 Bed temp 55

Inconsistent. Temperamental. Brittle.
Like Hatchbox? Good. Me too. That stuff is amazingly consistent. This stuff isn't.I was printing Facemask ear protectors with Hatchbox PLA on my Ender 3 with a Glass bed and making 50 a day for my Nurse friends. Hatchbox was running out. Found this PLA and it had some decent reviews. Bought it. Swapped out PLA and ran same Gcode for protectors. Failed adhesion... poor distribution. Issues. Issues. Issues. After 2 hours of playing with settings and releveling the bed. I gave up.Fast forward 2 weeks. Decide to print some Benchies. Failed adhesion on first layer. Issues. Issues. Issues.Change some settings. OH WOW. ONE OF THEM WORKED!? I print another with settings for higher quality. OH WOW ANOTHER WORKED. I might have found the secret to getting this PLA to work like hatchbox!Try for a 3rd benchy... Failed Adhesion. Issues. Issues. Issues. After 3 hours of playing with settings, reverting to the original Gcode of the ones that worked...I've come to see that this PLA is as the other critical reviews have stated. Brittle, under density and inconsistent. Maybe you'll be lucky and get a good roll.I do not recommend this brand.

Good company, Good quality value filament
The media could not be loaded. This is some really nice filament. Put it to the test on my super wobbly Tronxy X5. It prints well at a lower temp, like 200c on the hot end. The build mat included WITH each roll of filament is a great add on, I gave it a shot with PLA and it stuck on great and my part popped off when cooled down. Very nice vibrant red. I wrote this reveiw unsolicited for no compensation of any sort for fellow makers to make a solid choice. 🤘🏻

Absolutely worth your time!!!
Great filament for the money, definitely gives Hatchbox and inland a run for theyre money. Consistent and reliable, my new go to filament.

Many failed prints... bad adhesion, stringing, etc.
I've had success with some of the other OVERTURE filaments, but this white roll I got it just garbage. I had so many failed prints as soon as I started using it, then I ran it through a series of test prints to try and fine tune the setting and still ended up with a lot of problems, especially adhesion to the glass plate and stringing. Wouldn't recomend.

Works, kinda-sorta.
EDIT: Taking off another star. Aside from ongoing inconsistencies with bed adhesion the winding of the filament on the reel has twice caused breakage by being cross-wound so that it chokes and locks, breaking at the extruder. Poor. Overall a disappointment.I had mixed results with this filament. It seems to perform well in terms of extrusion and consistent thickness. but I have had 50/50 adhesion success.. It just doesn't have that reliable adhesion. It's cheap, but I have found it frustrating and can not rely on it for long print jobs. Shorter time prints are better, but not 100%.

Clogging !!
My printer keep clogging since im using this pla. Im printing a trex skull and iv wasted 6 hours on 3 piece so far. Not sure 100% its this but what else. I did not had this problem with last pla a couple days ago. Ill change my rating if next pla do the same.EDITED: Seems to have been mix of my printer and this PLA. I have tried another of the same brand and he clogged once but the rest of the day was fine.. So buy at your peril.2nd EDIT back to 1* . Another spool same brand keep clogging with brand new nozzle.

Terrific PLA !!
I purchased several Overture 1kg 1.75mm spools in several colors for my Ender3 Pro. Using the Creality slicer that runs Cura 1.22, I get stellar results. Prints are sharp with a nice glossy look. Zero stringing or pops. Every spool is vacuum packed and a cool print base is provided free of charge that looks similar to the Ender3 Pro magnetic base. I have not tested the supplied base since I use the Ender3 magnetic base. Very pleased and will be purchasing more.

Fragile and clogged my printer, but good quality prints
~Edited at the end after using up the roll~I've had to switch from the previous brand I had (Duramic) because it's no longer available and opted for this one. So far, I haven't managed a single print without any issues. Tangled twice, broke three times and clogged once, had to replace the tube entirely. I'm worried about leaving it alone because it keeps causing issues. The last time it broke, I had to pause mid-print, pull out the filament to avoid it clogging again and as I was grabbing the filament with a 2-fingered feather grip light enough to caress a newborn, it broke again in my hand. None of this ever happened with the other filaments I've used. It's done nothing but cost me money for things like new bowden tubing and print heads and waste my time with failed prints and cleanup. Not a single successful print so far. To top it off, it's very stringy and bridges poorly, but that might be because I haven't found the right settings for this particular PLA (which I won't be using for long anyway). One little tiny thing that's noteworthy about it though is that from the little bit I did manage to extrude without it breaking on me, the layers are nice and smooth compared to the old filament, adhesion is really good. Shame.EDIT: After the initial problems and some research, I learned that tangling is due to user error, not the factory. I still wouldn't get this filament again despite it printing nicely and adhering well, It's still prone to clogging and very brittle. It also tends to adhere a bit TOO well and leave residue, even at lower bed and head temps (flexible magnetic bed). Once you do get a print out of it though, the finish is nice and the quality is overall very good. For comparison, I've switched filament again and it's sturdy even when bent, doesn't clog and prints well.
