Ernesto Che GuevaraGuerrilla Warfare (Penguin Modern Classics)

A good read and insight into Che Guevara
Guerrilla Warfare is designed as a short guide to the key things to think about if you are starting a Guerrilla war. It gives some practical points to think about that maybe potential freedom fighters may not have taken into consideration such as the importance of good shoes as your fighters are going to bee on their feet marching quite a bit and also the importance of conserving ammunition (which you will need to obtain from the enemy). The book finishes with some lessons learned from the Cuban revolution on things to think about once you have achieved your goal and become the government.Ernesto Che Guevara had a good writing style and I found this very easy to read and it is quite a short book with only 133 pages, so I finished it on a single train journey from London to Plymouth. The subjects sometimes surprised me such as the focus on having good shoes and also showed Guevara’s focus on making sure the local ‘peasants’ were not treated badly by ensuring they are compensated for food and serious punishments for fighters mistreating them.First published in 1961, this book is a little out of date though – even considering Che was planning to update it before his death by US FBI assassins in 1967. Since the Cuban revolution there have been so many advances in military equipment with drones with heat sensors etc not to mention the increase in mobile phones that many of his techniques would leave the fighters exposed to attack. I suspect that the guerrilla war would have failed if it had taken place in the last few years. Moving large numbers of rebel fighters, even at night, would have been suicide. An interesting read that provides some insight into the mind of one of history’s great revolutionary figures.

Informative
His Perspective and Ideas are very Convincing, no wonder that many People followed him, He had a very Clear Vision and one that made Sense. The Cuban Revolution is very Interesting that such a Small Country made such an Impact on other Countries and the Definition "Revolution" itself. For Example i noticed similarties when i Read the "Green Book" from Muammer Gaddafi, it's an Puzzle and this one is a Piece of it.
