My drill sucked and stripped the screw however... i still got it in
So I love these! it works great for both a 20 inch tv i have and a 40 inch. They work great but while attaching to the wall (with one screw on both installations), i stripped the screw and couldnt go any further. Luckily I realized i had a socket wrench and used that to put it in the rest of the way. Also had some difficulty placing the tv and plate to the mount. I couldn't get the bottom screw and washer to go in, but once i realized, if i tighten the top bolt on the plate instead of resting it there, it was super easy to line up the bottom hole and get it in.I don't ever do stuff like this so I'm a noob if that helps explain why I struggled so hard 😂

Full pattern VESA plate.
Quite sturdy inexpensive tv mount that worked for my older Samsung with rectangular vesa pattern. This has a full plate with multiple vesa patterns without the need to assemble/adjust an X-wing type bracket. A full plate is also great for mounting things that don't comply with the standard vesa patterns, just drill your own holes anywhere you want.

Very Happy, Well Built Mount!
I bought this to install a ~3 year old Insignia 32" LCD to our bedroom wall and it worked great. The mounting bracket lined up perfectly with the screws in the back of the TV, and the bracket assembled easily.I am not sure if I have a revised version of this mount compared to other people who purchased this same mount, because many of the reviews on here say they needed to replace the stock screws with aftermarket screws. The one I received installed using 1/2" lag screws. Not only were the lag screws high quality, they were significantly larger than a typical drywall screw. As a matter of fact, I took a black drywall screw (I recently completed a large drywall project) and the entire head of the screw was smaller than the hole in the mounting plate. There would be no way to safely use a drywall screw without using some type of reducing washer.Nevertheless, I felt confident in the included lag screws and used them. Of course I had to predrill the holes, but once I did that, I used a 1/2" socket to tighten it to the stud and all was well. I have an older house with true 2 inch by 4 inch studs (as opposed to modern houses where the 2x4s aren't really 2 inch by 4 inch". Perhaps its this larger wood that allowed me to get such a tight fit, but I feel very confident that this mount will never accidentally come off the wall.Once the bracket is secured to the back of the television and the mounting plate was on the wall, installation was a snap. As others said, there is a "pin" that connects the two pieces together making the actual mounting of the television a snap.We installed this on the center of a flat wall, so the arm is kept in a folded position, but even when fully extended, there was minimal movement from the TV. I would feel confident using this mount to install a TV in the corner and keeping the arm extended.About the only downside I can give is that included in the box is a cheap plastic oval shaped hook that connects to a screw on the bottom of the "elbow" that is designed to help hold up the TV's cables when the arm is extended. This piece of plastic kept falling off due to the plastic having a slight taper to it. Since we are using this mount with the arm folded, I really didn't need this piece anyway, and certainly wouldn't knock a star off the overall rating because of it.In a nutshell, I am very happy with this product. It is well designed and well built. Installation was a snap, and the price is considerably cheaper than the name brand products sold in big box retail stores. Save yourself some money and gain peace of mind by buying this product!

Works great but installation instructions are lacking
The mount feels secure and works as it should. The vertical tilt, swivel, rotation (360), and extension are fine and more than you would expect for a product at this price. Installation should have been a snap, but was not. One pivot point on the arm had to be tightened to reduce sagging and to allow the outermost part of the arm to clear the other part of the arm when the mount was folded against the wall. The instructions have no text and fail to identify a huge issue that initially led me to think I would have to return the mount. When I first mounted a 25-inch LCD monitor, the monitor tilted downward at an unviewable angle and refused to tilt upward. After much thought, I removed the monitor from the mount arm and reversed the mounting plate vertically on the back of the monitor. The monitor sat perfectly after this procedure and stays in place when tilted. The instructions did not indicate which was was "up" on the mounting plate and there is no indication of the correct orientation on the plate itself. The included hardware is minimal and lacks spacers, washers, and lock washers. The plate was too large to sit flush on the VESA mount area of the HP 2509b monitor, which has a depressed area for mounting. Along with good hex head lag bolts to replace the cheap cross head lag bolts included in the hardware, I got small nylon spacers and M4 x 16 screws to replace the M4 x 8 screws that shipped with the monitor. After adding the spacers, a washer, and a lock washer, the mount plate and 16mm screws were secure and flush on the monitor. If you are faced with a similar situation, get a variety of spacers and metric screws at the hardware store to save a subsequent trip. I paid from .17 to .23 each for the spacers, screws, and lag bolts.I highly recommend the wall mount. The mount is an exceptional value for the money. I would grant five stars to the product if the instructions were adequate and a better hardware packet was included. I gladly would have paid a few dollars more to get good instructions with text and better information on the correct orientation of the mounting plate. A better assortment of hardware would be helpful.
