Crumb Stop - Stove Counter Gap Cover 1 pc

My Crumb Stop has arrived! Delivered on time... It feels and looks just as expected, a medium hardness black rubbery material that is strong enough to solidly keep the barrier in place inside the gap, but soft enough to allow you to squeeze it into the gap without much effort. It took a second of head-scratching to figure how to do it, but eventually I got it: you start at one end by squeezing and inserting that end into the gap, then continue to squeeze/push in progressively toward the other end, making sure not to push it too deep. Best to leave a bit of it out until you inserted all the way to the other end, then gently push the rest of it in until level with the edge of your counter top. Make sure it's in an upright W position, so it can catch anything that might fall in there...I love that it is black and it goes completely inside the gap, so you barely notice it. Additionally, you can wipe the counter and the stove tops without fear that stuff will fall inside (well, it may but it will be caught by the crumb stopper), and without any interference from the device, like it is the case with other ones I saw.While I didn't need to do this, the rubber is soft enough that you can trim it using a pair of scissors, in case it is too long, or if you want to reduce its height (e.g. if you have a very thin counter top edge).All in all, I like the product and would recommend to anyone who likes to keep things clean around the kitchen.Update: we just made dinner (we like to cook most of our meals) and I can already see tiny bits of salt and a few drops of oil that jumped out of the pan that were caught by my Crumb Stop! Normally they would have fallen inside the gap and in time would have made a mess in there that would have had to wait weeks or months before the next clean! We have a stove which is very difficult to remove to allow cleaning of that hard to scrape caked mess that forms in there in time. I am thinking to buy another one to cover the vertical gap between the stove and the lower part of the counter, too.

While the gap between my countertop and stove is very narrow, the countertop overhangs the cabinet so I was able to slide the Crumb Stop into that space. That will make a marked improvement over spills going any further down.Installation is very easy: squeeze one end, insert it into the gap, and push the Crumb Stop back. It slides out just as easily for rinsing.I can imagine that a Crumb Stop might be just as useful in preventing the spread of horizontal spills, such as along the base of a fridge.I much prefer this design compared to a bridging strip.

Very difficult to get into position in tighter spaces; item is very, very stiff. Holds in position well in tight, static spaces, but tends to roll out of position in looser locations; in particularly, it will almost instantly roll out of place if you try to put it between a refrigerator and a counter, leaving it looking just plain awful or falling out of place entirely.

Works great and looks stellar. Great for keeping spills from going down the side of my stove. Easy clean up. Very happy!

Worse product ever !!

The packaging was simple, yet environmentally friendly with all the basic instructions you need. Once you expand and retract the material (like an accordian) it is very malleable and easy to put in place. With my stove, it adheres so well against my counter I found that when the product caught a spill of dried material it was easy to leave the crumb stop in place and just wipe away the food bits with a folded cloth. For a spill of wet goods, a slight pinch and slide the product toward you. No further mess, cleans and dries very easily. I put mine in the top rack of my dishwasher a couple times and it easily went back into place. I do not notice it as it blends right into my kitchen and saves me from pulling out my stove to clean spilled messes - which are a lot with my little son. Great product and great price point!

I couldn't even slide it in between the stove and counter. Very cheaply made, I would not recommend this to anyone. It does not bend as much as shown in the photo, as soon as it gets even a little bit tight it flips over, making it useless. Very disappointed in this,

Un peu difficile à mettre en place. Si l'espace est large, il a tendance à sortir de la position. Il fonctionne mieux dans un espace pas trop large.

Gotten 3 now - it does what it states - cut to size if it's too long - if you don't have enough space, can be tight to put in though.

Not worth the money . Very hard to insert and make them stay there !
