Dogtra Fieldmaster 1 Dog LCD Training Collar

This is now my second time giving Dogtra collars a try. In both instances, the collar works for a few days and then abruptly stops holding a charge, and thereby stops working completely. I charge it over night and the next day, the battery dies immediately upon unplugging. This thing is totally useless. Warning to all those considering the Dogtra collar brand—just don’t buy this. For $200+, I find this odd that the exact same problem has now happened on two separate occasions. The company is aware of these issues, as evidenced by the many reviews reporting charging problems. I’ve also emailed them and I’m told I need to pay shipping both ways and a fee to get this fixed. Clearly there is some sort of manufacturing defect and the company does not want to take responsibility. With so many other reputable brands out there, I’ll do business elsewhere.Buyer beware. To the Dogtra company: do something about this. Charging this type of money for a clearly defective item that many people have reported is poor business practice.Horrible. Glad I caught this while still in the return window or I would be out over $200. After going through this issue with Dogtra now twice, I do not find this coincidental and i don’t trust that their products are made well. I’m also disappointed in their lack of customer support.BUYER BEWARE! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COLLAR!

We bought this back in 2017 and it still works great. The battery life for both the collar and controller are very good and we just remember to throw it on the charger every four days or so, it can really go for a while. Also, depending on how often you use it as well. We use it for hikes for off leash reminders and in our unfenced backyard as well. Our 90 lb lab hound mix responding to the training for it great, and we rarely if ever need to use the shock option. We recommend really implementing a lot of training with using the vibrate first and positive reinforcement, the shock really is last resort. We highly recommend this tool and are very pleased with the product over these years.

We love this collar!My husband and I trained narcotics detection dogs in the past but never used e-collars as a training tool. We purchased a high drive dog for a personal protection dog and have had him for three years now. As a protection dog, he's magnificent. He's easy to train and does what he needs to do. The problem was we could not have him in the house with the family because he just had too much energy and would not settle down.We went through three collars off Amazon before we decided to spend the money and go with a Dogtra. We knew it was the best but didn't want to spend the money. Now that it's spent, it's some of the best money we've kissed good bye. None of the other collars provided the stimulation our dog needed and this one does the trick. We now have a calm dog inside who will work when he needs to. I will recommend this collar to anyone needing to train an extremely driven dog.The collar holds a charge for about 5-7 days and we usually have it on our dog all day long and take it off at night. No issues with it so far, and he's been bathed with the collar on, so it's been around water too.

We love this collar, origionally bought this collar to keep our dog from chasing deer into the brush of NC, it had seen hundreds of sandy/salty beach trips, muddy hikes, rocks and snow now in CO.This things is durable, still maintains a charge and performs without issues.The charger lost one of its chargers about 3 years in, but the second lead still works fine and we just swap them when we need to.I love the ability to set the setting, or do continuous if there is a dangerous situation and I really need my dogs attention.I don't review that often but after 4 years of great use I felt obliged, I don't find things that last very long anymore but excited to see how long I can use this collar for.100% will be buying again when this thing finally is lost or dies.

I bought this collar mainly based on the reviews and recommendation from a dog trainer to use an E collar for my German Shepherd who is fear aggressive. This collar has made a huge difference in the training of my dog and I have to say I'm grateful to not have to replace small lithium batteries as frequently as I had been with old collars. I do like that it's water resistant and the dog can wear in whatever weather we might have a especially the rainy & cold seasons. My biggest complaints after 1 year ,I have are with the batteries charged time we only get about a day maybe half days use out of it so I find that the caller most of the time the collar is DEAD when I need to use it. Another problem I have is the remote control even after a full charge I'll turn it on to power up and tested and it'll work to a three times reliably and then it'll shut itself off. so long with thing for spending so much on this caller you get more than one year use out of it currently I'm on the market to find a replacement.

I have a German shepherd who is a very sweet affectionate dog but gets VERY hyper with over stimulus, dogs, people, squirrels, blowing leaves lol. Walking her was a challenge because she would pull so much when she would see something she was interested in. With this collar walking her is a pleasure again, we can loose leash walk her and even let her run around off leash without worry. She always comes back. Just having the collar on her calms her down. Everyone is more relaxed. And all 4 of our family members including teenagers tested it on ourselves to understand the sensation. It's not painful at appropriate level and when used properly. She has never once yelped when we have used it, she just turns her head. My only complaint is it doesn't come with good info on how to use and train with it. But there is lots of info online to guide you. I highly recommend you research on how to use it properly and you will all enjoy your new and improved relaxed well behaved doggies!

I have used these collars before and have an outdated model with recharging issues so I purchased this one as a replacement.I love that the remote and the collar both have their own off and on button. Vital to me was the little window that shows the setting of the intensity.One my old collar the setting would sometimes get set really high by accident, this collar has a tiny window that reminds you of the setting when it comes on.I have a 100 lb dog and I use it in the 1 to 3 range. Mostly, I use the pager when he is on the sent of the neighbours cat in our yard and he would rather have that than me.

This is the second Dogtra 1900 NCP I've bought; one for each pup! This has been the best training tool for my guys. They have the freedom to run free off leash, and I have piece of mind as I have full control over them!! I would recommend this collar to anyone, and have already to all my dog friend owners!! You might think this is a little pricey, as there are other e-collars out there, however rest assured, this is the best!! This collar offers settings ranging from 0-127, as well as different functions- nick to constant pulse. Me and my boy maverick are the poster 'children' for the benefits of an e-collar!! If you're thinking about purchasing, please do, you will not be disappointed!!

This is really an excellent product. extremely well packed and contains everything you need. I have quite a stubborn Pyr, and this really changed my dog's behavior few hours only after 1st use. Before I did a lot of education work, but she knew se could get away by being far enough. now, I can correct bad behavior from anywhere. Useless barking, scratching, chewing kid's toys, peeing indoors... all gone so far !great product, looks sturdy and professional too. up to now I am very pleased with range and battery life. I have a large lot and it picks-up all around it.

Excellent product. works amazingly well for my german shepherd. I do not have to use it all the time.would recommend this product highly and have done so to my friends.

Probably the best on the market. Recommended by a Police Canine handler. Great range for correction. Worked so well and in such a short period of time we haven’t needed it since.
