Helikon-Tex Men Wolfhound Jacket, Outback Line

I’m loving this jacket so far. I haven’t tested the limits as it relates to the cold yet but it is lightweight, seems warm, and has a nice look. It’s very compact and thin so it can be worn under another jacket (I think somewhat the point). My only comment is that the zipper is a very cheap quality. This is the second jacket in the past year I bought with a cheap quality zipper. I hope that’s not a trend that’s starting.

After doing a fair bit of research I was recommended the Helikon-Tex brand. After looking for something I could wear as an outer layer when it was either not too cold but not too warm, I figured I would take a gamble and I definitely won.After more than a year the jacket's definitely was built to last. the elastic around the cuffs are comfortable and retain your body heat, and the jacket's material keeps you surprisingly warm and dry assuming you're not at 0 or below (or with high winds). The pockets are nice and you get a good range of motion.My suggestion would be to go one size up if you're on the heavier or bulkier side, but it fits great even if you have even a regular build or a wider chest.

I love this jacket. I typically dress in layers and this jacket functions perfectly as an outer layer in good weather or a layer under a gortex shell when it gets nasty. It comes with a handy stuff sack which is a great little bonus.

What’s the deal with these sizes? A large is a medium? Why?

Fantastic product. I hope the jacket proves to be as robust as im hoping. Material is quiet enough for hunting while being very packable into small backpacks. I would generally buy an XL (USA) and followed other reviewer's advice by purchasing a 3XL (yes, an XXXL!!). The 3XL jacket fits me perfectly for just enough room to layer a thin underarmor thermal jacket. I am 6'3", 205lb.

Great jacket, well made. Warm!!! and overall happy. The Seller did send the wrong size however. but I am okay with it. (I ordered a Medium, received a Large)

I personally like the Helikon-Tex brand clothing line. I own the trooper soft shell jacket which keeps me warm in 30 degree weather. With the wolfhound jacket, it adds an additional warmth for colder weather with out feeling over layered. This jacket works well in moderate cold climates and feels great while worn.

Great jacket, perfect as a mid-layer, or as a stand alone softshell on a mildly chilly day... Has a fair degree of water resistance and maintains its warmth, especially on cold dry days... I've unintentionally tested the jacket to 32F on a cold rainy and windy day, and didn't have any significant issues (even when wearing a short sleeve polo under it). Paired with a waterproof hat, its surprisingly bearable for an hour or two in inclement weather....

Ich habe mir die Jacke im April 2022 gekauft für 109,95 Euro.Aktuell kostet sie schon hier auf Amazon 119,00 Euro Mai 2023.Ich bin immernoch im Zwiespalt. Die Jacke passt auch bei meinem langen Oberkörper echt gut und dass kommt selten vor.Allerdings habe ich mir schon beim Auspacken gedacht.. für das bisschen Stoff über 100 Euro? Ich habe die Jacke dann damals doch behalten und bin bisher auch zufrieden. Ich trage sie zum spazieren gehen im Wald oder zum Pilze sammeln oder auch bei arbeiten im Wald. Der Stoff ist sehr angenehm und hält bei leichten Regen auch eine Zeit lang ziemlich gut dicht.Von mir bekommt die Jacke 4 Sterne.

Helikon have done it right again. Great little jacket. Well made. Packs very small. Gives roughly the same insulation as a 200g fleece. Fits just right. Thin panels in armpits are a boon if you like to keep those areas vented (although zips might have worked better, but only a small niggle). Excellent as midlayer or outer layer on still days as I don't think they are quite as windproof as coats with more substantial shells. I also like the low collar because my neck gets too hot with too many funnel necked layers...allows the option of a neck tube if required.

Die Jacke sieht okay aus, passt super, ich kann ruhig noch etwas drunter anziehen (Pulli). Die ist wirklich leicht und warm genug.ABER - Was mich stört ist: außer vielen nicht besonders stabilen Taschen ist an der Jacke nichts besonderes dran, besonders wertig sieht die auch nicht aus, der Haupt-Reißverschluss ist nicht so gut wie bei anderen Jacken von H-T und TROTZDEM kostet die Jacke gut - über 100€ ... das verstehe ich leider nicht ...
