Audio OPTI8VWT5 VW T5 Compatible 8 inch Speaker Upgrade

I wound up cable tying the spacer into position with a bead of silicone adhesive to mount it, minor modification to the spacers needed but not difficult with a junior hacksaw and a pair of sidecutters. The leads provided fit perfectly in my t5 transporter 09. The sound is much improved on the 2009 paper speakers and the bass is very much improved. I am a heating engineer so have lots of tools available to facilitate fitment. If you are not good with your hands or adapting items to fit then get a professional to fit this for you. Otherwise i have never had bad vibe speakers and these work very well. I just hope my neighbours dont complain as i have been testing these out since fitment. They really pump!!

Overall good, but the spacer rings are too small for the original fitment, one of the tweeter plates was cracked, no retainer rings for the tweeters and had to add some crossovers for the sound quality to be correct !!

Ensure you purchase for a T5 and not a T5.1 as the adaptor rings won't fit a T5.1. I found out the hard way and now need to source the correct adaptor rings :-(

upon unboxing and browinsg through the manual (dual version for smaller set) its evident that not all is going to be straight forward. while verything appears to be there its not- it requires screws and for you to know up front what size spacers you need, though theres no way of telling which ones come with which kit.after finding out the spacers are too small, i called the phone number in the back of the booklet - they said they could ship me out the correct size once ive sent the wrong ones back to them, that would take 3-4 days to get to them plus anotehr 2-3 days for them to arrive back, so i paid £19.99 for the correct size spacer (inc delivery) they said they would overnight them on a saturday delivery as i explained the van was in bits and i need it on the road for sunday and dont want the hassle of dismantiling twice - or they could have the whole kit back. lets hope it arrives im writing this friday night. (yes they arrived)i plugged the 8 inch cones in to test the sound and yes they are good and are plug and play after i re assembled the provided wiring loom as it had been badly manufactured. i then moved on to the tweeter installation, couldnt get the tweeters in the triangles turns out a vital part missing from the instructions is you need toremove the rear plastic cone by prising it off with a screwdriver AND either desolder the inline filter or once the rear cone is loose break it thus redering it useless in future maybe thats why they come with a spare ! you then need to carefully cut the wing arms of the spiked metal ring else the tweeter will not sit flat. poor design. theres very little sound coming from the tweeters to the point i thought they are not working untill i unplugged the 8 inch cones may look at after market crossover module and remove the inline filter. probably screw the warranty but at this stage, im wondering if the warranty is even any good.This kit is a bunch of genric parts from stock thrown into a box made to look like an all in one solution, these parts are designed to fit other vehicles too hence the need to modify certain things to fit the VW T5 (2007). while the sound quality is not awful - i certain would not recomned these or buy them again.

I fitted these to my t5.1 and fitting was simple as some has said the adapter rings are slightly shorter but if you get them in the right place can fix them easy with some self tapping screws . I fitted them in an hour The tweeters was simple too. I run mine off a alpine halo 9 head unit and sounds amazing don't understand the bad reviews for fitting them... if your not mechanical minded then I would suggest getting someone who is to fit for you
