I had never been to Big Bend and this book really helped me out! Lots of information, nice photos, just overall very very useful and great to take with you in your car at least as you drive around since some areas may not have cell data. Knowing how long the trails are, and how they're rated helped a ton with planning the days.

This book is so helpful when planning your trip to big bend. I would highly recommend getting this!

Worthwhile introduction to the Big Bend are of SW Texas. More attuned to needs and information for serious, back country adventures. We found book valuable with regard to short nature trails and identifying the physially less demanding "easy" trails. Information on dozens of trails of varying lenths and levels of difficulty very thorough in terms of locating trailheads, altitude changes, distances, and information on how the many trails often dovetail with each other. Maps are very useful. Includes great photogtaphy.

A good resource for hiking trail information at Big Bend. Will be using it to plan a future trip.
