does this work for your thumb?

I didn't have one for my thumb when I had trigger finger on my thumb but it appears to work on you thumb as well. It keeps your fingers from folding up and keeps the pain away for the most part. Right now I am wearing the brace on 3 of my fingers and need another for another finger. I am unable to have the surgery because I am on 2 blood thinners and could bleed out. My son who is a doctor has advised me to see a hand doctor because they now have a shot that might help me with some or all of my fingers.

My middle left finger is hypermobile and bends far back now , making it nearly impossible to type. will this help it to not bend backward?

I doubt it. You could wear the splint on the back of the hand instead of in the palm but when I tried it, it didn't seem to prevent the finger from bending backwards like it does on the palm side.

Not really didn't help much with trigger finger

my ring finger knuckle locks in the bent position. Will this help correct this condition or just give relief.

It does help it from locking. As a result, it does help to keep the inflammation down so I don't have to wear it as often. However, even though it has a lower profile then one that wraps around my whole finger, the metal does hurt my palm and after wearing for awhile even the finger next to it starts hurting. I alternate between both styles. Both will help to where the locking doesn't happen near as much.
