I never felt like I fit in anywhere. I lost a sense of nationalism as a child in public school because they only harped on how awful our country is. They actually made our country awful by doing that! And I never felt like I could go to another place and feel a sense of belonging there. Even in the Church I've never wholly felt a sense of belonging, as we shouldn't I suppose because even Jesus "knew what was in the hearts of men and didn't trust Himself to them."But for the Poor Souls!!! Their love of God, their gratitude, their constant prayer! For the first time in a long time, I feel patriotic, to Purgatory! I feel I've found a nation and community and sincere friends! Whom I can be charitable to without suffering betrayal or cruelty, and who have helped me through their prayers in ways I never thought imaginable, as helpful as great Saints! They've obtained such enlightenment and help about both God and my life!I wish it were more widely known.It is an essential dimension to love, charity.It combines perfectly with the works of other saints. When combined with the knowledge of trust in God one gets from Story of a Soul by St Therese, or by St Faustina, or St Alphonsus Ligouri, or St Pio, everything comes together, it's as if the puzzle is more complete. It's if I'm more complete as a person. It's very good, wholesome, loving, uplifting, inviting.It also really helps me appreciate Our Lady and the Brown Scapular devotion, as she promised not only to deliver us from Hell by it but also Purgatory. It helps me appreciate more fully all devotions and Sacraments, and Eucharistic adoration, for their sway over the Heart of Jesus' Divine Mercy and their capacity for expiation of sins.

There is a number of books on the holy souls in purgatory the best being Get Us Out of Here by Nicky Eltz and it is the most comprehensive book that I know and most enlightening will be getting it on my kindle for Christmas if Santa has come

I had a series of 30 Masses called Gregorian Masses said for my grandfather a few years ago. After the Masses were completed I asked God for a confirmation that my grandfather was in Heaven. Since someone had just found the holy card from his funeral 40 years before in a prayer book left in a hospital waiting room,I asked God if this was my confirmation and when I arrived home that day in the mail was this book, "30 Days for the Holy Souls"! I could hardly put the book down. It is fascinating reading. It is very enlightening to read what types of actions we need to be cleansed of before we can spend eternity with the Almighty. I am grateful to have received this book through Divine Providence.June Klins

Great reading especially made for the month of November—-each day with special ‘first-hand’ experiences and nice explanations/prayers. Don’t need to be any special religion....just need to realize NOTHING that isn’t perfect gets into Heaven and some (though bad) aren’t so bad as to be condemned to hell....so what remains for those of us not in either category? This book reveals the answer.
