AT&TCL80115 Handset Answer System

I WAS SCAMMED... but I am not yet sure how to proceed with my grievance as I dont know WHO yet to blame. I ordered this for its EXACT intended purpose.. as spare handset for existing system, bc despite having FOUR handsets, mom keeps misplacing and losing them. THIS WAS ADVERTISED AS A 'NEW' PRODUCT... BUT SOLD A USED ITEM! "How Used' was it can NOT be determined...and actually MOOT POINT since i was duped and PAID for NEW but GOT USED. I already own this exact product NEW as a system, so KNOW how they're are supposed to look, HOW they are packaged, etc. NO-BRAINER CLUE #1: tamper-proof orig box seal broken. NO-BRAINER CLUE #2: the once-sealed orig pkg'n [literally] already 'TORE' open whic proves someone was already 'in there' removed/used charger base. There is now NO peace of mind its not also a USED BASE, or BAD base for that matter [ havent took it out yet to try] . NO-BRAINER [ for previous owner] to KNOW the handset was IN FACT USED bc the NEW phones [in my experience] do NOT have ALREADY-INSTALLED batter in the the phone/handset! They are individually wrapped in sealed plastic.It ALSO had a partial charge on it...so there is NO MEANS of even knowing that I received a NEW BATTERY with this order and handset as SUPPOSED to be. More I type here, the MORE assured I will just RETURN THIS on mere PRINCIPLE ALONE! The orig battery I got with my ORIG base unit and phones lasted a few years and were replaced already ONCE, the replacements of which only lasted TWO YEARS and stopped holding lasting charge. Along wit THIS unit { which I thot wud at least have ONE new battery I also purchased a set of new batteries for moms other handsets. SCAMMED On HANDSET, SCAMMED on the BATTERIES.

It provided clear instructions on how to connect to my existing system.

Product does not work with my base unit. Had to return product.

The product itself is decent. I purchased this additional phone to expand the existing system which I've had for several years without problems. However when I opened the somewhat damaged carton I found the protective film had been removed and put back on kind of cock-eyed and finger prints on the underside of the film. The battery and cover were in open bags. This was fulfilled by Amazon. My issue is that when I pay for "New" I expect to get new, not a returned, and possibly defective item. I gave it a three overall but the reduction is due to Amazon, not the manufacturer.

I bought these for the call blocking feature. Took a while to figure out how to set it up. I think I've got it right now.The phones arrived in a plane brown box. A couple of the phones had some sticky glue on them and had to be cleaned up. Otherwise there OK.

I am satisfied with this phone system. We have purchased three additional phones to provide us with five phones throughout our large townhome. They work well and give us a good intercom system. The only problem we have experienced is that the three additional handsets we purchased do not access our directory. This doesn't bother us because we only use handsets 1 and 2 to make outside calls.

Works exactly as advertised. We also purchase a twin-pack of add-on handsets; easy to expand the network. Two things we would have preferred different: 1.) the battery compartment cover on some of the handsets is not snug and likes to fall off; 2.) there is no jack for earbud/mic connectivity.
