So worth the cost
Makes incredible rice. We originally had an aroma brand rice cooker that was gifted to us, but after having lived in Japan, we knew we wanted a rice cooker that made the same level of quality. It has been so easy to use and clean, and we really love the timer function as we often have some rice with breakfast- we can prepare it before bed and have perfect, fresh rice in the busiest of mornings. It is about the same size as the aroma 10 cup cooker, but I find it's definitely worth the upgrade for the quality you receive. It also looks much nicer than the aroma cooker, so we don't mind it staying out on the counter next to the mixer.

incredible build quality, simple and the best rice i've ever made.
I never knew how good rice could be before i bought a rice cooker. a friend (with japanese children) recommended this because he's had it for 10 years and never had any issues. all the reviews i saw showed the same - the more expensive japanese built is the best, and so far, it seems to be true. extremely easy to use (literally put rice and water in the bowl and press start) easy to clean (just remove the bowl and wash) i've made absolutely perfect rice every time. this is a device that is worth the money, buy it once, buy for life.

Best appliance you’ll ever buy!
Best investment you’ll ever make!! This thing works great, has loads of features and setting, plus it sings to you!? What else do you need? Amazing quality, I’ve had this thing for years and it shows no signs of stopping. It’s pricey but well worth the money!!

Perfection! Well worth the money!
This is the best rice cooker I’ve had. Takes longer to cook but cooks rice to a perfect consistency every time.

Makes perfect rice!
I got my sone this as a gift last Christmas (it was on his list), and he loves it. Never overcooks the rice and seems to hold it without scorching. Nice unit, according to my son.

Delicious and simple
Well, it's my first ever rice cooker, so I can't say I'm an expert on the subject. But, I have heard a lot of issues people have with rice cookers is that it burns on the bottom or it doesn't cook right; I can say with certainty this rice cooks to perfection. It has nice little instructions on how to correctly/adequately wash the rice and comes with a neat little spoon/spatula thing I can't remember the name of at this moment, which makes fluffing the rice and mixing it when making sweet/sushi rice so much easier. Love the little markings on the inside so I don't have to measure anything but the rice itself. Highly recommend getting this for quick, simple, and absolutely amazing tasting rice, but it is a little pricy and worth it to me.

After going through many rice cockers over the years, mainly due to peeling of the inner pot, I found this perfect rice cocker. Needless to say, the inner pot is very high quality and slippery - very easy to clean - has been using it for 1 year and it's still as smooth as day 1. Feature wise, since day 1 when we bought it, we have been having using it for cooking different grains: Jasmine, Calrose, sushi, brown, mixed rice; congee; steaming; and even cereal. It handles it with perfection. One small feature request would be to have one more timed cooking slot (only 2 right now), I sometimes have to cook rice morning, afternoon and at night. All-in-all, this is the end-game rice cooker.

Llego y no prende.

Amazing rice cooker. Almost daily use for more than 3 years and still makes great rice. Used it a couple of times for other things in the options, but mainly use it to cook rice, mostly jasmine, but also brown and sushi rice. It does a great job of keeping the rice warm through the day so you can have fresh rice when you need it. Works great.

Since I own an Instant Pot, I was really on the fence about getting a rice cooker... But I honestly don't regret it at all. This thing is amazing. I saw a few people complain about the cook time but that's just silly. The Quick setting is around 30 min and the Normal and Umami settings are around an hour. You just adapt to the cook time. I usually start rice before I start cooking and it'll be ready by the time I'm done. It's also great at keeping the rice nice and warm for HOURS so just start it sooner and stop moaning. I went for this more expensive model because the cheaper models are not Made in Japan, often too small and have less features. I really like the Umami setting, I think it makes a big difference! Although to be quite frank, I rarely make more than 2-3 cups of rice. I eat rice so much more often now. It always comes out perfect and it cooks while I'm doing other stuff. If it's too expensive, consider looking at the other Zoijirushi rice cookers. I'm sure they're great too.

Having finally used every single setting and made countless amounts of different types of rice, one-pot meals, steamed veggies, slow cooked things, had breakfast porridge ready and waiting, I can say this beyond a shadow of a doubt: this Zojirushi rice cooker is the best thing I have ever bought, hands down; it is absolutely worth every single penny. Especially when I need to prep large amounts of rice to make a mountain of onigiri. It's pretty damn foolproof if making rice is your kryptonite. Use the measuring cup provided (¾ of a US standard measuring cup if you lost it), add in the same amount of water after washing rice (i.e. - 5 measuring cups, fill to the 5 line of the appropriate rice), close lid, select appropriate option via menu button and hit start. Also, notable mention to the timer function. It is absolute heaven to come home to rice/your meal kept warm and ready to eat. You pick the setting you want, set the timer and it's ready by the time you specify. There's two different times available with the timer function. The Keep Warm function has a default setting of 8 hours, but it can be extended to 12 hours. Clean up is super easy. I use a soft sponge for the liner pot and the removable lid parts. They get dried with a soft towel and replaced back. The instruction manual covers all of this. There's a bunch of recipes in there too and the ones I've tried are pretty good. Also some of those viral reel recipes work amazingly well. I have made so many pots of Hainese-style chicken and rice for dinner in this rice cooker. I never use metal utensils with the liner pot and even with the plastic spatula, it's more to fluff the rice; I'm not scraping up the sides and bottom. Stirring things in the pot before cooking only happens with a silicone spatula. My liner pot still looks brand new, not a single sign of flaking. All in all, 10/10, highly recommend this rice cooker. If you have a big family/just eat a lot of rice, definitely invest in the larger one.
